Find a way, not an excuse 💚
Today was a first for me! I woke up at 3:15am, drank my Go-Go Juice ⚡️, & hopped on a virtual team workout with some of my girls over on the East Coast & we crushed our 20 minute workout 👊🏼💪🏼😃
I already know what you’re thinking, “Girl have you gone crazy!?” 3:15!? I know, I know, but I really wanted to join them & experience a virtual group workout & see if can I actually get up that early 🤪
When you’re excited about something, it’s not so bad getting up early. I was NEVER a morning person. I LOVE my sleep. Working 8-5 (plus a commute), coming home to get dinner ready & Gage ready for bed, the morning really is the only time I can get my workout in. I’m willing to sacrifice some sleep to get that #endorphinrush
, plus once I’m done it puts me in a better mood to get the rest of the 23 hours of my day going.
A lot of people ask me how do I get up so early. It’s not always easy!! It took some time to adjust & get into the habit. Just like anything else you have to be consistent & try at it for more that just one day. Some tips that helped me adjust were
1. Start off slow, set your alarm 5-10 minutes earlier & get up at that time for a few days, then 5-10 more minutes earlier until you’re at the time you want to get up.
2. Mindset. Before you go to bed tell yourself, “I am excited to wake up early tomorrow & get my day going.” “I am going to wake up early tomorrow.” (I know it may sound cheesy, but it works!!)
3. Just hop out of bed the minute your alarm goes off! The more you hit snooze the more you’re staying in that bed. (Been there 😴😴)
4. Keep a cup of water next to your bed & drink it right when you wake up 💦 ☀️
There are studies & proof that waking up earlier makes you more productive, less stressed & have an overall better sense of well being.
I told myself I would probably go back to bed after this morning’s workout, but I’m so pumped & full of energy I think I’ll get my day going instead ✔️ Happy FriYAY ✌🏼💚
