I got rained in today and by the time it cleared up it was already later on in the afternoon, so heading out on the road would have been difficult because of the traffic rushing around in the city and I know that if I leave later on in the day it's usually really dangerous for me to be on the road. Thank God that I thought ahead at one point to buy weights and training equipment for the house so I could do exercises at home. Here I am doing kettlebell swings and there's my pull-up bar in the doorway. Training is something that you do all the time whether you can make it to the #gym

doesn't necessarily mean that I need to be out on the field #throwing
a javelin, it means that I need to have the correct form and I need to be in shape. Training to #swim
doesn't mean that I need to be in the water 100% of the time, it means that I need to be ready to get back in the water as soon as I can and that when I get back in the water I'm going to be at peak condition.
Being a #paralyzedathlete
means that I have to take better care of my body than most people realize, it means that I have to do things that other people don't even think about doing because body movements occur naturally to them. In the kettlebell movement are four movements that I had to learn how to do individually first and then I had to learn how to put them back together again. The first one would be standing up, the second would be bending at the knee while staying up right, the third would be straightening up, and the 4th would be swinging my arms with weight. Putting those four movements together is absolutely incredible let alone being able to do the first two, at least according to my doctors.
