Scary moments of the history....the Holocaust. A few days ago we visited the Kazerne Dossin - Memorial, Museum and Documentation Centre on Holocaust. During World War II, Dossin Barracks was known as a detention and deportation camp from which Jews and Roma were sent to concentration camp of Auschwitz. 28 trains left from this Belgian casern and deported over 26000 Jews and Roma. At the end of war, only 1240 of them had survived. The portraits of many deportees can be seen on the portrait wall in the museum. Black and white portraits have people who died, colored - who survived.
The message of this post is - we must always look forward, but we have to understand our history in order to not repeat the mistakes of the past. Let us say NO to racism, discrimination and intolerance!
