TOKYO | When in Tokyo, or anywhere, a great way to find good places to eat is to look for places that specialise in one thing, and are frequented by locals.
Takamaru is a seafood Izakaya in Shinjuku that serves up loads of tasty, fresh food. When I visited the place was busy and had a great post-work vibe about it. My friends and I ordered a mixture of dishes that looked interesting, and a few that the person serving us said were her favourite. From tuna to salmon, uni to sea grapes, and horse mackerel to squid, everything was fantastic 🦑🐟👌
