Stretching is the most important part of our workouts, PRE and POST!
It's important to remember to warm up first because stretching "cold" muscles can lead to injury. Although once your muscles are warm, stretching properly can reduce injuries, give you better flexibility, range of motion, posture, and coordination.
When you stretch, make sure you're doing it properly. Stretching should never hurt, so be sure to stop if you start to feel any pain as a result of stretching. Holding your stretches for 10-30 seconds helps your muscles lengthen, make sure to do them on both sides equally and try not to bounce whilst you stretch. Target the muscle groups that you plan on engaging the most thereby you can better prepare your body for the specific type of exercise it's about to get.
When you're done exercising, it's important to cool down. Stretching is an important part of this cooling down process. When doing it after a workout it helps to avoid tired, stiff, and sore muscles by relaxing them before returning to a normal pace.

It was a snowy spring reception in NYC this year. In light of that, a post depicting warmer days seems more appropriate. I took this at the start of spring two years ago. During the majority of my trip my room had a view overlooking the Persian Gulf, the Presidential Palace, and the Emirates Palace. I remember trying to count the multiple structures within the confines of the Presidential Palace which appeared like mini palaces next to one larger main palace. To say that the royal infrastructure in the capital city is extravagant would be an understatement. Abu Dhabi has this cultural charm that makes me favor it over Dubai and claim it as my favorite Emirate. 🕌🐫
I’m finally getting around to sharing the other half of my birthday adventures with you all! Death Valley was one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been, plus it’s also the first and only National Park I’ve been to (but not for long!). I snapped this pic just as the sun was setting over Badwater Basin.
