Here’s a simple (but awesome) tip to try when next doing Lat Pulldowns 🏋🏽♀️
The initial thought is to bring the bar DOWN from A to B -
But instead, try thinking about tearing the bar apart out to the sides 👈🏼👉🏼 on both the concentric (pulling the bar down) and the eccentric (releasing on the way up) 👌🏼
I’ve found this has helped hugely with both myself and clients when focusing on actually feeling the back muscles do the work 🙌🏼

It feels so good to be getting back into the swing of the gym, quite literally hehe!💪🏼 In all honestly I’ve been struggling, I lost 8kg over a very short period of time from my illness and am still battling my weight now. My appetite has seriously declined and it is HORRIBLE I adore food so not being able to eat much is awful. However, I am one determined lady and I will not let this stop me, in fact I am fighting to get better and stronger than before.

I feel like this shot currently, an absolutely beautiful world surrounding me but my eyes are closed because I’m too tired to open them. December = too much alcohol mixed with people flooding to be fit for Christmas. It’s a Tricky mix with an over excited brain like mine. (I never sleep) Don’t get me wrong, I love every second of every minute helping every individual between F45 & My Business - Just think I’m in auto pilot currently 👩🏻✈️ Christmas is a slightly uncomfortable time for me just because of my childhood but also a very beautiful time for the humans who are apart of my life. All the love, praises, happiness, gift giving. It’s the one time of year members seem to stock me up with bulk kinder surprise & alcohol 😂🥂🍫 ( I make you fit, you make me ‘Fluffy’ (good choice of words there) 11 days & I’ll be back in my car 🚗 Driving 7 hours into the middle of nowhere, back home 🏠 Always a slightly odd occasion with our very mashed up family, but it’s a day for Love....& bulk Christmas ham.... 🍷🥓🍗 Broom Broom, get excited for another overload of my travel clips 📷
Another physio session done and dusted 🙌🏼. Swipe ➡️ I am aware these squat are not traditionally "deep" but I can't go deep without stirring up my back. So I am to go to the height I can feel it pull and working with that until it allows me to go lower.
Photo 1: to get "deeper" and avoid the pain when I am fatigued I would severely lean forward. Lil did I know this is what would aggravate it more. My PT would correct my form but as leg days my favourite day and would train it more often then not when I'm on my own and fatigue I'd fall back into this problem!
Photo 2: form correction and my torso not allowed to lower more then 45° which means long and behold my lower body is taking the brunt of the exercise and working the way they should be.
These photos were taken to make me consciously aware what I was doing when not with my personal trainer.
I honestly cannot thank my PT enough for how hard she works and how patient she is with me on what I can and can't do! She listens to my body and slowly (despite the stubbornness of me wanting to train) has taught me to listen to it, taught me when I need to change an exercise or when I just need to stop and stretch. She finds out what's discussed in physio and she works with that to ensure I'm getting best results and outcome even if she had to incorporate my strength exercises in our group classes.
You could not find a better human, PT or friend then you would find in this girl 💖
No matter how good the program you’re using is, sometimes you just hit a rut and you get a bit bored.
The instinct for most people is to switch programs, but you know better than that. DON’T BE PROGRAM HOPPER.
So, if you can’t switch programs, what do you do?
Hitting a new gym for the day is always cool – the set up is different and the atmosphere is different and it’s a change of pace that often leads to a better workout.
