This was me on Saturday afternoon shortly after a fabulous wine and cheese pairing with Joanna of Brickhouse Vineyard. Our pairing took place in the newly restored 18th Century Round House. Perfect for our intimate and bespoke event. We tasted two wines made with grapes from @brickhousevineyard
- the first being their Sauvignon Blanc. An unusual wine in the fact that few English vineyards make a single variety Sauvignon Blanc. Thank goodness Brickhouse does. This wine was excellent and with only 200 bottles produced last year I felt like I was sampling something very special indeed. This wine sat very well alongside @cornish.yarg
- a fine combination. The second wine was their rosé made with their Pinot Noir and Regent grapes. A fruity little number that paired very well with the smooth, mild and creamy goats cheese. The third and fourth wines we sampled were from further afield. A Chilean Pinot Noir paired with @sharpham_wine_and_cheese
Brie and a Bordeaux that was full of dark berries and vanilla notes that went spectacularly with @quickescheese
vintage cheddar. I was in complete heaven as I sampled these wonderful flavour combinations overlooking the beautiful Devon countryside and the immaculately manicured vines. .
