: A reading for creative projects
After yesterday confusion, I wanted to get back to external problem-solving for anyone who needs the advice; I'm a problem-solver at heart. While shuffling, I got 3 jumpers before I did the drawing. No shock: they’re related but from different perspectives.
Domain: Ace of Cups—Ace of Wands
Problem: Queen of Pentacles—Eight of Pentacles
Solution: Page of Swords—Temperance
Both are geared toward people engaged in a new and exciting creative endeavor. The #aceofcups
suggests one drawn from a place of emotion and fantasy, while the #aceofwands
suggests one drawn from the passions and spurred on by physical vigor. They are also complementary in their elements (water & fire) and gendered associations (receptive/feminine & assertive/masculine), but this isn’t for men and women separately; this applies to twin impulses in creative beginnings.
The primary problem is the day-to-day activity (#pentacles
suggests a nurturing environment with a wonderful mentor. Sounds great! But for cups creativity, it might be too comfortable, too easy. There's no reason to branch out or take that first adventurous step alone that #pageofswords
demands of us. Sure, the earth might not catch us if we jump (or, rather, it will in a really painful way), but any truly creative endeavor requires a leap of faith. The #8ofpentacles
shows the opposite side of the coin (or pentacle), the diligent worker just toiling away, working day and night alone to perfect his art. It's easy to go overboard with this other extreme too, especially when paired with the intensity of the Ace of Wands: it's easy to burn the candle at both ends with that combo. #temperance
tells us to make time for balance in life. Slow down. Be patient. Progress takes time, and perfection takes infinity, so don't lose that passion with infinite toil. The #majorarcana
card's visuals also recall the cups of creativity that might have been forgotten in all the focus on the drive toward craftsmanship.
