It doesn’t matter where you are, but who you’re with. I’ve heard from other therapists who do work in hospice care that continually, the sentiments expressed at the end of life are without a doubt always relational.... wishing they’d loved more. Spent more times with loved ones. Healed ruptured relationships and friendships. Traveling so far and for so long with someone is, like a relationship, like a marriage, a mirror that brings out your best and worst qualities. In these beautiful photos of us around Europe what you don’t see is the moments of loneliness and heartache that we both have for our families and for our life back in California... how even in moments of such beauty there is longing for home and belonging. There are moments of frustration and annoyance and grumpiness. A shout out to ben, who helps me feel at home wherever we are. mostly by making me laugh until I almost pee my pants... everyday. And also looking at renaissance works like this giant piece behind ben which is actually like 20’ across helps too! #art #homesick #honesty #travel #beauty #love #marriage #gratitude #partnership #family #home #zweisamkeit #rennaissance #artofvenice #accidentalphotobomb

Fun but bumpy race in Loxton a week ago... we came out with a 4th place finish after challenging 3rd in the last hour. Always good fun meeting more people in the sport, even more fun sharing banter with those I already know!
