I just had surgery yesterday and to make my acl they took from my IT band which is causing me quite a bit of pain. This page is such an amazing way to make everyone feel heard and loved 💛” #aclrecoveryclub #aclrecovery #aclsurgery #acl

You guys! It’s time that you wrote down your goals and started achieving them!
I promise you, with our team behind you, you can do it all 🤗🤗🤗
I hate touching around my scar because of the numbness but lately the feeling has been coming back to the touch. Still some numbness in some spots.
About to hit 17 months post op (I'll celebrate each month forever 😜)
*swipe for more battered photos* Red and yellow and pink and green... purple and orange and blue. I can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow, can you? I’m beginning to get a bad case of cabin fever. Theres only so much you can do sitting in pretty much one position all day. You would think having a netflix vacation is awesome however not being able to lie on my side or belly really takes the fun out of couch potatoing. Other than that, I’m constantly doing my physio exercises and it seems to be healing much faster than I anticipated. The ice therapy machines are like witch craft healing machines. I haven’t had to take major drugs since day 1 which I’m super grateful for, I’m sure if I didn’t have a human to rear i would gladly welcome the magic sleepy pain pills. My scars are beginning to itch... and my back has a huge knot under the scapula. Who knew the most painful part of #aclsurgery
was back pain?? Www.MelbasToast.com :

Here’s a great glute finisher at the end of your next workout! Keep watching until the end to see how to really ramp up that glute contraction! 🍑
ACL Sport Specific Rehab
One of the most challenging parts of ACL rehab is end stage sport specific rehab. The therapist must understand the athletes sport and position as well as addressing fears they may have. I’m privileged enough to work in a facility that allows me to finish the full course of treatment. I also always try to incorporate reactive exercises which is how they function in sports. The open space is pivotal for working on late stage sprinting, cutting and agility which are necessary for sports.
Here are some examples of sport specific exercises I incorporate during ACL rehab.
1️⃣ Soccer specific rehab for a goal keeper - the goal is to get her comfortable moving laterally and reacting to the ball.
2️⃣ Defense drill - this is for a reactive drill I like to use for defensive players in soccer, basketball and lacrosse.
3️⃣ Football football - this is a defensive back in football. We’re working on decelerating and changing direction.
4️⃣ Basketball lay ups - jumping and landing off one leg can be scary for basketball players. While we don’t have a hoop, working on repetition will help build confidence.
5️⃣ Reactive stop and go dribbling - a common skill that’s necessary in basketball, she is stopping and crossing over on my command.
6️⃣ Lacrosse goalie - another reactive drill which is specific to her position. I want to ensure she is comfortable loading that knee and reacting quickly shots.

My new exercise routine... slow and steady wins the race I guess.
One year ago today, I wrecked my knee while prepping for Florida’s Strongest Man. So much has changed in the last year because of the very moment in this video, but there’s no point in crying over spilled milk. Still hoping one day my knee feels totally normal again and I can do all of the things I want to do. #tornacl #tornkneecapsule #sprainedmcl #powerlifter #strongman
Took a lot of physical pain and personal growth to make it here. I couldn’t have done it without the special people in my life.
Special shoutout to @capnmexi
for nurturing me back to health for weeks and weeks and being there for me. She also helped me make these achievements possible.
Another special shoutout to @physiolabpt @alevko24
for his professional advice and friendship over the last year+ his work helped me recover from the #aclsurgery
so that I could train for these races.
I am eternally grateful for everyone that helped me get here. My quest for the #spartantrifecta
is now complete. The #spartanultra
was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Now it’s time to recover and move on.

Day 40 🌅 of #sunrise365
There is something about daily consistency toward a goal that makes you feel proud about your progress and gets your soul singing.
Coaching Challenge: Do one thing today to make you feel proud of yourself. 💫
As a coach, I see too many people waiting until they reach their goal to be proud of themselves.
I started to fall into this trap too right after surgery. Then my recovery team of loving friends reminded me to celebrate mini-wins.
My soul is singing with the sunrise right now and I’m feeling proud about showing up for 40 days in a row for sunrise, fully determined to design my day with an intentional morning practice.
My goal of 21 days of sunrise started because I got myself into some bad habits after surgery, late night snacking, too much TV, social media, you name it, I was doing it, and doing it well. 😕
After 30 days I hit a hard health reset and haven’t looked back.
“What does the sunrise have to do with health and wellness Coach?”
This is a question I’ve heard several times as I’ve been posting my sunrise photos.
Two answers to address this question.
1. Starting my day off with Sunrise establishes my wellness priorities.
My priorities include time with God, reflection, self-celebration, connecting with nature, reading, writing, and now being able to walk on the beach after #aclsurgery
10 weeks ago.. this is all wellness.
2. My sunrise goal represented a new habit, one I desired to start and stick with. I started with 21 days, now to 40, next to 66, with a vision of a whole year, hence #sunrise365
What’s the new habit that you desire to Start and Stick with?
Is it.. daily fitness? eat better? reduce stress? improve quality sleep? lose weight? start to meditate? less sugar? more yoga?
I’m not sure what your goal is but I am certain that when you start you’ll think about stopping. I hope my sunrise pics will be a gentle reminder to stick with it, to celebrate your mini-wins along the way.
I’m no photographer but I might be framing this picture and bringing it back to the beach house in Brooklyn after this recovery season.

I can't tell you how happy this made me. My first walk up The Cloud since my operation! Felt SO good to be back at my favourite place in Congleton with my love 💛
A year ago today 7/18/17 I had knee surgery. I remember being in physical therapy thinking “I’m having the hardest time learning to walk again how am I ever going to get back to dancing?” I felt like I’d never feel “Normal” again. I can say a year later it does get better! Most of the time I forget about my injury unless I’m dancing or having to squat down etc. I’ll feel a little pain, but I’m so blessed to be were I’m at today. I still have a lot of work ahead of me to be back to were I was but I learned to have patience and to give it time. Thanks to everyone again for your support the past year ❤️ #ACLsurgery #meniscussurgery
—Day 32 Post Op—
I definitely get jealous whenever I workout with @nickjj1623.
The moves and lifts he does always look more fun than my struggle of a TRX squat. Then I remind myself that working out and getting strong is a privilege. I have to do the work now, then the fun stuff will come. #dothebasics

My loss in my CRC Open single semi final was expected. My opponent, while only 15 years old, just won the U18 double championship.🏆 With this final match, all my events are done and I know where I need to improve next. Looking forward to playing more quality tennis with better players 💪 and thanks to everyone who helped me prep, practice, and cheer 😊

Week 18 post op
On Monday, I went to hospital to see my doctor for a normal checkup. I had a lot of questions and I asked all of these. Why I still can’t stretch out my right knee perfectly? Somehow I’ve been having a hip joint pain since I got surgery, why? and more...and doctor gave me answers politely. I felt good ☺️and also she told me that she actually had ACL reconstruction surgery just 2 months after I had same surgery by her😂Now, we are ACL survivor and family 🙌
She allowed me to run with no brace!!!yay🎉
To think I started the year just getting on an incline leg press machine again - no weights - now I’m pressing almost my body weight on doubles and 60kg on singles. MMMHMM YEAH I’M STRONG!! 🦵🏾🦵🏾Going at my own pace and trusting/Loving my body again more and more every day!! #aclrecovery
Must Love Dogs!
Cali girl has been keeping a close eye on me the last 10 days while I am recovering from my ACL surgery. We had to move the bed downstairs to the living room because I couldn’t make it up the stairs! Cali absolutely loves it!! She thinks we put a king size mattress in front of the warm fireplace just for her!
Anyone else go through ACL surgery? Have any tips??

Client Success Story:
Ziggy and his Human are long time clients of MOVIDA and My Fit Life @myfitlife_og
About a year ago Ziggy injured his hip and knee... tearing his ACL... the main ligament that supports the front of the knee...🚑
This is usually a debilitating injury for a big doggy like Ziggy... 100lbs!
After surgery, Ziggy's Human stopped the pain meds after just 1 day...
They were making him anxious and constipated... no bueno...
We started Ziggy on a Therapeutic Protocol of our 400mg Healthy Blend Tincture and MSM.🌱💖
Ziggy immediately calmed down and started having regular bowel movements...
Since he was no longer restless... Ziggy was able to heal...
In fact, the doctor was so amazed at his first post-op check up that he said... Whatever it is you are doing... keep doing it... Ziggy's recovery is amazing!
Fast forward to today... and Ziggy is enjoying the good life...
Creating art with his Human, socializing at Dog parks, and taking naps... lots of naps...
Good job, Ziggy! MOVIDA Loves You!!! 🐶💖💖💖

Before starting any rehab process and plan of care, we have to establish our “jumping” off point (I know, I know, very punny)
is demonstrating a snapshot of the functional screen we did the other day. We looked at strength, double and single leg jumping and squat, and the hinge pattern. We’ll take the findings from our assessment and come up with an individualized plan of care that gets Margo back to ballin like Nick Van Exel 🏀
💭 Thoughts and Comments welcome below!
Days like today I’m super thankful for coffee, superfoods and Jesus!
After work, I came home and crashed for 4 hours
You guys, we have to listen to our bodies and make sure that we’re getting adequate rest
Rest and sleep is how our bodies restore everything and keep everything functioning properly
So now I’m chugging coffee and my superfoods so that I have the energy to go out tonight
Plus my pizza shirt makes everything better 😍
Testing day for @stevenfreund
