My journey as an actor started 5 years ago. I enrolled in a beginning actors class @sjsu.
I took the class because I watched a lot of movies growing up and admired what actors like Brad Pitt, Will Smith, Jim Carrey, and Health Ledger could do on screen and I also needed to find a class I could pass since I was placed on academic probation.
I then spent the next 3 years immersing myself in Acting starting with Stanislavski’s teachings using sites like @backstagecast
to audition for as many things as I could I found great people to collaborate with I’m talking about you @cam_poletti
, I even got signed to @mdtagencyinc
but was unable to book work because I had no idea what I was doing!
I knew it was a time to take this training serious so after graduating college I made it a point to find the best acting studio and teachers I could possibly find and I found not one but 2 amazing teachers.
I am so thankful for the @meisnerstudio_sfbayarea
and for my teachers for creating a place to come get to work no bs 100% authentic as soon as you walk in the doors.
Thank you for raising the standards of my work ethic, dedication and humbling me to the life of an actor.
Here’s to the beginning to a new chapter of the journey.
What have I learned on this journey so far?
1. There is no such thing as good or bad acting. It’s all about what it is truthful.
2. Sometimes you need to go backwards to go forwards.
3. Don’t let perfection paralyze you. Just get after it. Take on a beginners mindset with each project.
