Over three months ago, I left for an epic five week journey to Israel 🇮🇱 , Vietnam 🇻🇳 , and Cambodia 🇰🇭 . A head-first dive into cultural and self exploration, an opportunity to unplug my being from routine comforts and unleash into the unknown 🤷🏻♀️. ~
The journey ignited 🔥 my soul, filled me with awe, admiration, and of course, mouthwatering eats 🤤 🍲. ~
I was struck by just how much we could fit into one day when we weren’t futzing with our distraction machines or watching 📺 . My interactions with the locals was a reality check that immediately struck my heart with compassion ♥️ and disappointment in humanity all at once. ~
And, of course, gratitude 🙏🏻. The word gets thrown around often, but upon the first few weeks of my return home, I was able to be in a place of true and utter gratitude - and let me tell you, it was true bliss 😊. I was present, in the moment, and absolutely grateful with every interaction, every patient who trusts me to be part an integral part of their healing team (seriously, I am humbled over and over by you guys), every friend who had a story to tell me, every stranger whom I shared a smile with. I couldn’t be happier to be in that moment at that time. Time 🕰 seemed slower and each moment swollen with fullness. My gratitude for each second bred presence and mindfulness. That high 🙌🏻 was ignited by the travel drug, and honestly, I’ve since lost my connection with it 😐.
But I practice presence as often as I can and hope to strengthen that muscle 💪🏻 such that it becomes one of the strongest in my body! For me, it’s about constantly checking in with myself - letting go, breathing, finding the joy in the mundane. Would love to hear from you guys on how you practice being present and what changes you’ve noticed.
Okay wow, if you’ve read this far I’m WAY impressed. I didn’t know this post was going to transform into such a journal entry. I guess after so many months of not posting, a little rant is allowed 😜. ~
Love you guys! 🥰
People that embody the Fire element are considered the 'Wizards'. Their excitement and enthusiasm generate the heat for the reaction of fusion to occur. They are enchanting, persuasive, have the gift of expression and are affectionate, lively and generous.
They have a personal magnetism, and bring people together. They are intuitive, communicators and are playful and demonstrative. This idea of constant motion combined with warmth, energy, and responsiveness elicits this idea of Fire.
The equally as important and essential negative aspects can include hyperactivity, confusion, anxiety, nervousness, difficulty focusing attention, and may have difficulty resting and replenishing. Burning too brightly can lead to burn out. They need to express and show their warmth, but remain within bounds or else risk being consumed.

Here’s a happy little babe to warm up your Monday! 🌨This little dude came in for his pediatric chiropractor appointment and we couldn’t help but fall in love with that adorable little smile. And heck, we’re happy that his mom is bringing him in for chiropractic care, too. She’s helping to make him a happy and healthy little babe, inside and out. 💙
Winter isn't everyones favorite.
One factor being the cold temperatures.
There are many factors that can contribute to feeling colder or being sensitive to colder temperatures.
Cold temperatures have now been proven to lower your body's first line of defense against colds by causing nasal passages to become cold and dry so it is important to stay warm during the winter months.
There are a few things that you can do to help boost both your immune system and metabolism to stay warm and healthy.
Stay hydrated...colder temperatures equally dry air and you can become dehydrated which leaves you more likely to feel cold.
Dress in layers. Layers trap your body's heat more efficient the just one layer of clothing keeping snug as a bug.
Keep moving. As much as curling up on the couch with a blanket and a good book sounds, staying active via weightlifting or cardio keeps your blood moving improving vascular supply to your hands and feet, which keeps them from getting too cold too fast.
Visit an Acupuncturist, using Moxa, Fire cupping, and acupuncture can help keep the chill from setting into by natural increasing circulation, rising metabolic rates and helping the your body adjust it's thermostat to the colder season.
Sometimes self-care is an evening to myself with leftover Thai, a little admin work, and yoga. 🧘♀️
[Acupuncture for musicians]

From the trouble of the musician only, the trouble that is easy to hold on a daily basis, the first acupuncture treatment that has been troubled for many years, even though I met for the first time,Everyone was able to open their hearts and surrender their bodies and spend a fulfilling time.
It is to look at the body, too hard!
More rest!Be nice to yourself!
It is a musician who is easy to send irregular life, but everyone, the body is capital!!Health is the first!!
I can't do good music if I'm not healthy!!!
I want to say it with a loud voice.Acupuncture does not cure all diseases, but it can help you to improve various symptoms.
I want to spread more acupuncture.
If you would like an acupuncture event, please feel free to message me.
Winter is the season of curing. Please spend as much as possible while the image of hibernation.

We've talked about how every season has an organ system in the body that is most active during that time. You might remember that Winter is the time of the Kidneys ( also the Adrenal glands, and Bladder). We refer to these organs together as the Kidney organ system. .
This means during the winter our Kidney organ system should have our attention. It is most vulnerable right now if there are imbalances already happening but also has the greatest potential for healing.
During the opposite season, Summer, the environment around us is rich with Yang (you can think of this as heat, life force, and energy) that helps to keep our Kidney organ system strong and balanced if we don't .
The Kidney organ system is controlled by the element of Water, and in order to have optimally functioning Kidneys, Bladder and adrenals we HAVE to have enough fluid in our systems.
I know it's hard to stay hydrated in the colder months, we struggle with it around here too. Here are a few tricks we use to make sure we drink enough water every day!
1) Drink an 8 oz (or bigger) glass or room temperature water with a squeeze of fresh 🍋 lemon first thing in the morning. Try to do this before you consume any caffeine. This will help to flush your kidneys and jumpstart your digestive system to get your body off on the right foot!
2) Herbal tea! Hydration comes in many forms, and during the winter herbal tea is key. Find a tea you love (as long as it is not caffeinated) and keep refilling it throughout the day. It adds up. I've been obsessed with our Turmeric Tulsi Chai this winter, but sometimes I reach for something simpler like Tulsi or rosebud tea. In the evenings get in the habit of sipping on a nice chamomile to wind down and boost your water intake.
3) Soup! Consuming liquid in your food totally counts. Eat more soups this time of year. Make bone broth and sip on that before dinner, or if you need an alternative try getting miso paste and just add a tsp or two to hot water to make a super simple, tasty miso soup to drink before meals or as a snack. ... Did you know there’s more to acupuncture than just needling?
We learn needling, moxa (burning of a herb near the body for warming), cupping, Tui Na (Chinese therapeutic massage), Gua Sha, and more 📌🍃🔥... These are EAR SEEDS, they are literally little seeds on tape! They go on points on the ear 👂🏼which is a microsystem of the entire body (fractal correspondence!) There are so many different ways to treat using Chinese medicine, so even if you are afraid of needles -which is the number one reason people tell me they don’t want to try acupuncture, you are still welcome to come to an acu appointment and get a treatment 🌸☯️

Introducing our new acupuncturist, Carlos Haycock, LAc
I have been taking care of people in different healthcare settings since I was eighteen years old. I started out as a caregiver, then med aide, then CNA, then RN, then decided to go back to school to learn Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. I love nursing and I love acupuncture so I now do both part time.
I came out as trans about 20 years ago and I wanted to know what transitioning entailed physically and emotionally. Back then I don’t think there was a lot of data about transitioning and there was a lot of educating I would have to do when I would go see a doctor. I was constantly educating them even when I didn’t want to.
I decided to go into nursing to see if I could somehow help my trans and queer community.
My teachers really had a hard time with me being trans back then. My senior nursing project was to educate them all and I created a nursing care plan on how to care for transgender patients. We still have a long way to go in educating health care workers in caring for trans patients.
I personally enjoy attending the Transgender Health conferences at UCSF to hear the latest information. You may find me in the back taking notes and nerding out while all of the doctors and other health care providers are discussing the most recent research on trans health. .
Outside of work, I am a parent of a toddler who keeps me very busy. .

Bell’s Palsy USUALLY resolves on its own, but acupuncture and moxibustion are shown to resolve the condition faster than the combo of pred, vitamin B1/B12, and dibazole (Efficacy of Acupuncture and Moxibustion in Treating...; Li, Y. Et al. 2004). Here, we can see some facial points and electro acupuncture leads. I have also prescribed an herbal formula, Chuan Xiong Cha Tiao San, as an adjunct. #bellspalsy #acupuncture

Algunos ven las cosas como son y se preguntan ¿por que?
