My favorite part about when this shot was taken was that I was able to confirm that my legs are getting stronger. Squatting and leaning back for five minutes was not easy!

On the way to summit Sawteeth last weekend a fellow hiker informed us the views were “only worth it if going for your 46er.” He was so right... what a terribly mediocre view 🙄 #lame
one of the biggest ongoing mental battles i have is finding meaning in life. were we put on this planet for a reason? or are we truly just random bits of stardust that happened to come together in existence for no other purpose than because they could?? i think about this every time i photograph stars, and although i never get closer to an answer, i get excited to wonder about it when i’m out in the middle of the freezing night alone

Taking on The Devil’s Tower is much more pleasant than it sounds. 😈
This weekend was amazing. My birthday was Friday, but the real highlight was a trip to the Owyhee Mountains with the Students for Exploration in Geophysics club. We were given the GPS coordinates of an old broken seismometer and were asked to locate it and dig it up. Unfortunately, the seismometer had been moved so it was basically a wild goose chase. We prevailed in the end, but it was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done. The views kept me from complaining though, and anytime I’m outside I’m pretty happy. I can’t wait to become a Geophysicist someday so I can take real care of this amazing Earth 🌎
Crested butte is something else in the fall 💙 Caught some colors changing with the drone!
Curious Marmots out on the Tibetan Plateau.
We spent the first day of fall in this Mexican cenote! The bats and tarantulas really helped us get in the spirit (yes, really) 🎃
Auntie Zzazzles is moving back to Chicago! The twins are excited (and I as well, a little).
