Meet our team members!
Today we introduce Samantha Kosziollek, our Consent Captain: “Hi everyone! My name is Samantha Kosziollek, and I am in my first semester of the Forensic Psychology BA/MA Program at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. I am an inducted member of three honor societies on campus (Psi Chi, Sigma Alpha Pi, and Phi Eta Sigma), actively holding executive positions for two of those honor societies. I am the Vice President of the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, and I am the Student Membership Coordinator of the Psi Chi Honor Society. I currently hold a position as a SASP Peer Success Coach. I am also a current Honors Intern with the FBI New York Office. This semester I was fortunate enough to be welcomed aboard the It’s On Us team at John Jay College as the Consent Captain.
I want to be a partner for hope...an advocate for those whose voices are not heard...an advocated for those who can no longer find their voice. My passion for supporting and empowering survivors of sexual assault, sex trafficking, and domestic violence has led me to take on the role of Consent Captain. As I continue my work with the It’s On Us Campaign, I hope to spread awareness about the prevalence of sexual assault on college campuses, to educate our students, faculty and staff, to advocate for justice, and to share my knowledge and put forth efforts to prevent sexual assault in our communities. I hope to encourage the John Jay community to change the conversation about sexual assault to reflect more support and love for survivors, rather than the harsh comments seen recently in the media. I want to empower the John Jay community to fight for those whose voices are repressed...not heard...or ignored. “
