Sweet Summer Mango Lassi (Vegan)
❇️ 1 cup @daiyafoods
Plain Greek Yogurt
❇️ 1 cup frozen mango chunks
❇️ 2 TBSP Coconut Cloud mixed with 1/4 cup warm water
❇️ 2 Medjool dates
❇️ Add all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth ❇️ Serve immediately! Top with chopped pistachios as an added treat ❇️ Sip, sit back, and enjoy - it’s summer!

Lalo is a favorite in Haiti specifically in L'artibonite. The joke is if you are from the part of Haiti all you eat it is white rice, lalo, and okra.
Lalo actually can be found in other parts of the world under different names. Lalo is also known as Jute Leaves, Saluyot, Egyptian Spinach (Molokheya), Bush Okra, or ewedu West African Sorrel depending on the region of the world. It is found in tropical and subtropical areas from Asia to Africa. The leaves are used in stews, soups, or teas.
When jute leaves are cooked they the consistency is almost similar to that of okra
Jute leaves are very nutritious, rich in calcium, iron, protein, vitamin A, C and E, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folate, and dietary fibers. It is used as an anti-inflammatory treatment and a wrinkle reducer because it contains anti-oxidant substances. It is also believed to have curing agent to reduce chronic inflammation of the urinary bladder. The stem and stalk of the Jute plant are used to manufacture ropes and jute sacks. The leaves are also used as facemask as a beauty tip to rejuvenate the skin. .

I just placed my 3rd order from @eden_out_meals_asheville
and I’m so excited! Eden Out is a local Asheville business that makes non-GMO, organic, plant-based meals for the whole week AND (drumroll, please…) they deliver! They source their produce from local farms and all their meals are pre-cooked or raw vegan.
They are super easy to prepare... You just throw them in the oven for 15 minutes or warm them up on the stove. I’m not into microwaves but you can heat them up that way, too.
And I think it might just be a total game changer. I’m saving at least 10-15 hours a week between grocery shopping, food prep, and cooking. And it feels awesome that I don’t have to sacrifice eating healthy to get the extra time!

I’ve never been a fan of protein powders. I’d much rather get my protein from whole foods. But when @manitobaharvest
sent me their hemp yeah! protein powders, I had to try them! I mixed 3 tbsp. of their chocolate flavoured protein powder with a banana, half an avocado, some almond milk, and a dash each of vanilla and cinnamon. And ya know what? It turned out into this creamy, chocolaty, goodness! I won’t say no to that for breakfast! 🤤

Yesterday I went for a walk in the rain and could smell Autumn in the air for the first time. Such a great and comforting feeling came over me as my I looked up and got my face wet and felt a slight chill🍂🍁 Then I had a really great evening with some friends and family and we ate junk food and watched a horror😱 The conjuring 2. Nearly crapped my pants it was so scary💩😲 Sometimes it's really good to let your hair down, have a laugh, eat what you fancy, socialise and even scare yourself shitless👻

🇺🇸 It's definitely worth making your own "TORTILLA CHIPS" at home instead of buying unhealthy commercial brand chips. There is absolutely no difference in their taste 😊 (For the recipe in English, plz go ⬇)
🍟 4 adet büyük boy tam buğday unlu lavaş,
🍟 1 tatlı kaşığı domates salçası,
🍟 1 yk zeytinyağı,
🍟 istediğiniz baharatlar (ben kırmızı biber, köri, karabiber, zerdeçal, yenibahar, kimyon ve kekik kullandım)
Salçayı 3-4 yk su ile sulandırın, zeytinyağı ve baharatlar ile iyice karıştırın, lavaşları üçgen şekilde kesip sosa bulayın ve 180 derece fırında kıtır kıtır olana kadar kızartın. Her 10 dakikada bir cipsleri karıştırmayı ve ters düz etmeyi unutmayın ki iyice kuruyabilsinler. 😊

🇺🇸 ENGLISH VERSION:
🍟 4 whole wheat tortillas,
🍟 1 tbs tomato paste,
🍟 1 tbs olive oil,
🍟 spices of your choice (I used chilli pepper, curry, black pepper, turmeric, pimento, cumin and thyme)
Cut tortillas into chip size wedges. Dilute tomato paste with 3 or 4 tbs water and combine olive oil with spices until well-mixed. Spray the mixture on each tortilla wedge until slightly moist. Bake at 180 degrees until the chips are crisp, but not too brown. Don't forget to rotate chips every 10 minutes so that they get crispy easily.😊

I get up at 4.50am every morning, why? Because I LOVE my mornings. I go to the gym most mornings, and if I'm off from work I'll go for a walk too, and then I have a nice breakfast which has been a big bowl of oatmeal and fruit lately.

These Frozen Strawberry Yogurt Sammy’s are another perfect summer treat to make! ☀️ Fast and simple, 4 ingredients and a freezer! Oh and YES to no oven! 🙌🏼 Woot Woot!
Lately I’m all about the quick and easy treats! Don’t get me wrong I love making pretty eats 🌸 but with summer I just want yummy food fast! I think it’s the sunshine making me want to spend my days outside verses in the kitchen! Finding that summer balance can be tricky! 😂.
Cool down with a Frozen Strawberry Yogurt Sammy with the recipe below 👇🏼
• 1 cup plain greek yogurt
• 1/2 cup low fat whip cream
• 1 cup fresh and sliced strawberries
• 10 pieces whole wheat low sugar graham crackers .
• Line 6 inch baking pan with parchment paper
• In a medium bowl, mix yogurt, whip cream and strawberries
• Line 5 graham crackers on the baking pan. ( I like to pre-break each cracker while placing them into the pan)
• Spread strawberry mixture on top of cracker
• Place the remaining 5 crackers on top.
• Cover with plastic wrap and place in the freezer for at least 4 hours or until harden.
• Pull out Sammy 5-7 minutes before eating (that way it’s not so hard when you take your first bite lol) • Store leftovers in the freezer in a ziploc bag.

I have weird thing with salad. Sometimes i’m craving one over all other food options, other times I can’t bring myself to eat one & i’d rather eat a bowl full of chips or doughnuts, some days I’ll really want one but have to jazz it up with extra things because my tastebuds are craving something extra.
