When I’m out shooting—in the early morning or late evening especially—I find myself thinking of Monet’s series of the Rouen Cathedral. He painted it more than 30 times at different times of day and in different seasons to show how the light could be so different on the same subject. This photo was taken just a few minutes after the previous post once the sun had just peaked over the opposite mountains. The pre-sun pinks transformed to orange, blue and brown. This is one the reasons I love photography. #travel #alabamahills #sierranevada
Had an awesome weekend camping at #alabamahills
we will definitely be coming back again 🤙🏽
We got up with the sun today to see the colorful Alabama Hills and some really cool rocks 😍🙌🏻
Too stoked to get back out there!
It’s Wednesday and I’m feeling an identity crisis coming on. Lol. Anyone feel like this sometimes? #alabamahills

Wow. I’m just now coming to the realization that I’m closer to the actual state of Alabama than my favorite Alabama Hills so here’s a photo of a nice rock under a nice mountain as a memory.
Didn’t know I was a desert kinda girl 🧡
Sunsetting at Alabama Hills.
Peaceful, beautiful and slightly weird!
First run of the day - the Arch Trail in the Alabama Hills just above Lone Pine. Weird and wonderful place

I balanced my #Nikon
on the roof of my @jeep
to get this #MilkyWay #timelapse
while Juno and I went frolicking with the Canon. Love having two cameras again!✨📷🌌💫

A January moonrise over the Alabama Hills, with the voluptuous Inyo Mountains beyond. While the @nationalparkservice
gets most of the attention as far as public lands go, they manage far fewer acres than the @u.s.forestservice
and the BLM (@mypubiclands
). Together, these federal government agencies oversee close to half the acreage of California and the entire American West. All that land is your land. And guess what? The pricey entrance fees and crowds you sometimes see at national parks are the exception, not the rule. The majority of public lands are free to access and waiting to be explored. They are the great common ground where we can set aside our differences and defer to our love and awe of the natural world. Overcoming what divides us in favor of what brings us together is the secret sauce behind The Great Experiment that is our democracy. The uniquely American concept of public lands embodies this spirit to the core, welcoming one and all to pursue their inalienable right to happiness in the great outdoors. // 1.22.2016 // #alabamahills #publiclands #NPLD #keepitpublic #mypubiclands #exploreinyocounty #inyocounty #owensvalley #visitcalifornia #california #easternsierra #outsideontheeastside #wildcalifornia #395 #395north
Happy first day of fall. This was from last year in the Alabama Hills
It’s National Public Lands Day!
Go enjoy a free entry into a National Park or forest today!
Or just go get outside at a local state park or outdoor space.
Maybe if you see some trash on the way, pick it up.
My goal here was to climb the boulder next to where I'm standing. It looks easy from this perspective, but couldn't without sone sort of grappling rope. I also accidentally set my camera to 1 second instead of 10, so I had about 500 raw photos of me just walking..
