“Look mom! I’m a chameleon! Can you see me?!?”🌱🌿🦎🌿🍃
Contrast is king. Sharp rocks, smooth clouds, green trees, blue water. I love contrast! ❤️
My family is making their first trip to Alaska for Thanksgiving. I’m getting the house all festive! 💙🍃🦃
"Processing is much less glamorous than harvesting. It's usually done in the kitchen, and requires seemingly endless toil, endurance, and attention to detail. Picking leaves out of a sink full of blueberries, running the vacuum packer for two hours straight, stirring hot jam until the consistency is perfect.
Over the years we've learned that the time that goes into processing the catch can be far greater than the time spent catching. Though less heroic, this is the side of food's journey to plate that shows the appreciation and art of putting up food."

The lone sailboat in Resurrection Bay. I love using nature to help frame my subject, the branches offer a nice vignette don't you think?
After a two week hiatus due to icy conditions, biking is back on thanks to some fresh new studded tires! With the extra motivation of some guy mansplaining to me how I probably wouldn’t be able to do it, I successfully learned to install my own tubeless tires, too 👩🏻🔧 It did take a looooong time though. And was super messy. But I’ve got some pro-tips for next time!! Since I don’t have an air compressor, I used a fun booster pump to seat the tires which worked perfectly and was by far the highlight of the process #trek #trekfarley #fatbike #bikeak #bikealaska #bikelife #alaska #alaskalove #45nrth #dillinger4 #topeakjoeblowbooster #optoutside #winterbiking
