Wolf and bear, respecting each other's space and place in the wild ecosystem of Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve.
Play by play commentary: A wolf emerges from the creekside willows to follow and charge a grizzly bear passing by, down the creek. When the bear spins around, the wolf jumps back and both animals stand their ground, showing their bodies broadside, as to size each other up. They both seem to respect each other and after a few seconds, the wolf turns away as if the message had been delivered that the bear best not return to its area. The bear then turns and continues downstream, as the wolf slowly follows.
But why did the wolf charge the bear? Maybe there are pups nearby, at their summer rendezvous site.
