franchise has been a big part of my life since I was a teenager and still is today. The movies were never the scariest but they were always entertaining and funny for the most part. Bride of Chucky is in my Top 3 films in the franchise and still holds up. Chucky alone was cool but Tiffany gave the films a new direction and made things even more wacky. You should never judge a book by its cover, well...in this case the poster is amazing and the movie is amazing too!

6+/10. #horror #instahorror #instafollw #stephenking #dvdcollector #like #likeforlike #instalike #childrenofthecorn #evamendez #stacygalina #alexisarquette

Happy 20th anniversary to Bride of Chucky, the fourth installment of the Child's Play film series that saw the murderous possessed doll (voiced by Brad Dourif) returning from the dead once more, this time with the help of his equally twisted girlfriend Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly). However, a domestic squabble turned deadly results in Tiffany's death and being turned into a doll herself and now they must rely on a couple of young lovers (Katherine Heigl and Nick Stabile) to take the dolls to the burial site of Chucky's dead human body, which still holds a amulet that can transform into humans again, while leaving a high body count in their wake. This entry is significant in that it breaks away from the Andy Barclay plotlines and standard slasher-horror roots of the first three movies and goes for a more self-referential parody route. I know some people aren't fond of how comedic the films have become, but I actually went along with it mainly due to the fact that the concept of a foul-mouthed killer doll will get ridiculous after a while and poking fun at the series' conventions and as well as other horror films (in the beginning we see Freddy's gloves, Michael Myers and Jason's masks at the evidence room where Chucky's mangled remains were stored at) was the best way to go. Jennifer Tilly possesses fine comedic chops as the psychotic lovefool Tiffany and has some of the best on-screen chemistry with Chucky as Brad Dourif takes his character's preexisting temperament and violent rage to gleefully hilarious degrees and their Joker-Harley Quinn-type dynamic was a highlight in addition to the kills and the notorious, and anticipated doll sex scene. That's right; long before Team America, everyone I knew back in elementary school were actually looking forward to seeing that happen on screen. LOL. While it runs out of steam by the climax, Bride of Chucky is still a wickedly fun flick.
