Today I got back from one of the coolest trips of my life. I got to spend a few weeks in Maui Hawaii checking out the island and all of the outdoor activities it had to offer. It’s so cool to be able to see so many different places and experience them the way they were meant to be experienced. 🤙🏽🌺
Look at these two! The sun was too high so I got too many sun flares but I just love the sweetness in this picture 😍🤗
Thankful these bikers happen to go by, ended up creating such cool shadows

A first glimpse of a beautiful giant
This was actually my first sighting of Mt. Rainier - I was driving along and just happened to glance in the right direction as I passed a break in the trees. I stopped so quick, I’m pretty sure I left skid marks 😂
Nature is the one thing I'll never get bored with. Isn't it so mesmerizing? ♡ -

07/15/2018 2126: One of my favorite places to visit! So much good food and rides ❤️
This is Jim. He spent his last dollars on a 46-hour Greyhound ride from Bloomington, Illinois to Spokane to see his kids, and he narrowly managed to scrape together enough change to buy himself a bag of chips to make it through the day as he waited to connect with his family.
I’m keeping this short because I know social media attention spans are tiny, but I actually have a lot more stories about Jim that are worth sharing. He was very talkative, and I had a really good time chatting with him :)

Some of my favourite quotes are "finished not perfect" and "give yourself permission to create imperfect work." As a perfectionist, that last quote cuts deep. I've often found myself giving up on personal projects or finding excuses because I feel like it has to be perfect. Like I'm not good enough as a creative if it's not.
Going through my hard drives the last few weeks and organizing my digital hoard has been eye opening. It made me very aware of one sad fact: I've taken thousands of pictures over the years, and the vast majority of them have been seen only by me.
This needs to change. I need to start sharing, I need to loosen up and give myself permission to finish and share something imperfect. The thing I share today will not define who I am tomorrow, but will give me the foundation to build upon and grow.
So, here's the first of these imperfect works. This past April I traveled to British Colombia by myself to visit some friends, and see a side of this country I had never seen. Previous to this the furthest west I had been was Edmonton. Before that was Stratford, Ontario... seriously.
This trip to Canada's beautiful west coast was memorable for so many reasons; it was my first solo trip, my first time seeing the Rockies up close, and the first time in a long time that the sheer beauty of a landscape brought tears to my eyes.
I managed to capture this image after a terrifying gondola ride up a mountain (looking down and seeing trees that look like toothpicks is simultaneously amazing and horrifying). This gondola ride scared the bejeezus out of me, but getting to the top was the most rewarding experience of the whole trip. Looking out at the vast landscape before us was proof that sometimes the greatest things in life are on the other side of fear.
Comfort zones are meant to be broken :) °
