रत्नेश्वर महादेव मंदिर 🙏 RATNESHWAR MAHADEV TEMPLE . Ratneshwar mahadev temple Situated in the holy city of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, Ratneshwar Mahadev Mandir (also known as Matri-rin Mahadev, Kashi Karvat or Leaning temple of Varanasi) is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the most photographed temples in the holy city of Varanasi. This temple is 500 years old. . . . Waves of creativity Our Peruvian ancestors celebrated the bright and colour from the gold and silver in a huge party of symbols and precious jewerly, through the meaning of power and majesty. By the beautiful metaphor of their concept of duality they tell us a story of love for life, where the sun and sense of masculinity were represented by gold and the moon and all that was considered feminine by silver. I’ve always had a fascination with archeology. It’s extremely fascinating to me that we can dig into the earth and uncover life as it once was. When I was about 10 the Ice Maiden of Ukok was unearthed. I read about her in a weekly reader at school (member those!). At the time I was still mostly illiterate, I pushed myself through the article on her. I’ve felt her connection ever since. A little bit about her, •Discovered during the summer of by Natalia_Polosmak •Scytho-Siberian woman who lived on the Eurasian Steppes in the 5th century BC •She was about 25 when she died. Scientists veil it was a combination of breast cancer and complications from a fall for COD. They found traces of marijuana in her burial chamber. •she had some absolutely beautiful and intricate tattoos. She has a mythological animal: a deer with a griffon's beak and a Capricorn's antlers. The antlers are decorated with the heads of griffons •the deer represented the divine feminine. It was the only animal that could pass between the worlds. She must have been highly revered in life, not just because of her burial. She must have been a very powerful shaman or priestess. We’re still receiving her messages. #pagan #ancientculture #ukok #neverforgetyourancestors #ancienttattoo #capricorn #witchy #witchythings
Just impressive! Bayon Temple was built in the late 12th century by king Jayavarman VII. and is - after Angkor Wat - the most famous monument in that area. Only about one kilometer away from Angkor Wat, it’s the main temple of Angkor Thom („big city“), which became the new capital of the Khmer kingdom. More than 2000 faces decorate the towers of this temple 🗿 . . . #angkorthom #angkorthomtemple #angkorwat #siemreap #cambodia #khmer #culture #culturetrip #temples #explorer #ancientculture #magic #monuments #worldheritagesite #travelmoments #traveladdict #wanderlust #somuchtosee #exploreeverything
🇬🇧 My first post from the European Capital of Culture - Plovdiv. Our your trough the European Capital of Culture begins at Hissar Kapia - the last defensive facility of the Eastern Gate of ancient Philippopolis. It was the main link between Philippopolis and Byzantium (later Constantinople). The ancient city of Plovdiv (aka Philippopolis), where many cultural monuments and museums are located, attracts tourists with its preserved antique style. When you pass through Hissar Kapia, you will see the ancient city. Visit the European Capital of Culture - Plovdiv! There are many places in the city and in the vicinity that you can explore and which you will surely like! #plovdiv2019 #ancientplovdiv #philippopolis #hisarkapia #tourismplace #europeancapitalofculture2019 #ancientculture #madeinbulgaria

The unexplainable geoglyphs: known as the Nasca Lines. . Etched into the high desert of southern Peru more than a millennium ago, the enigmatic Nasca lines continue to capture our imagination. More than a thousand of these geoglyphs (literally, 'ground drawings') sprawl across the sandy soil of Nasca province, the remains of little-understood ritual practices that may have been connected to life-giving rain. . Now, Peruvian archaeologists armed with drones have discovered more than 50 new examples of these mysterious desert monuments in adjacent Palpa province, traced onto the earth's surface in lines almost too fine to see with the human eye. In addition, archaeologists surveyed locally known geoglyphs with drones for the first time—mapping them in never-before-seen detail. . Some of the newfound lines belong to the Nasca culture, which held sway in the area from 200 to 700 A.D. However, archaeologists suspect that the earlier Paracas and Toparácultures carved many of the newfound images between 500 B.C. and 200 A.D. . Unlike the iconic Nasca lines—most of which are only visible from overhead—the older Paracas glyphs were laid down on hillsides, making them visible to villages below. The two cultures also pursued different artistic subjects: Nasca lines most often consist of lines or polygons, but many of the newfound Paracas figures depict humans. . The new geoglyphs add crucial data on the Paracas culture, as well as the mysterious Topará culture, which marked the transition between the Paracas and the Nasca. Centuries before the famous Nasca lines were made, people in the region were experimenting with making massive geoglyphs. . Follow @thehumanoriginproject . 📸 @foodieflashpacker @peruhop

Here I am, at the famous temple of Angkor Wat... A masterpiece of architecture and the largest religious monument on this planet 🌍Although it’s a tourist hotspot I still enjoyed this place so much. It’s full of history, mystery and perfection. Simply stunning and beautiful 🌟 . . The history of Angkor is super interesting, so it’s definitely worth to have a closer look into it before visit this place. Here some short facts about Angkor: 1️⃣ Angkor Wat was build between 1113 and 1150 by Khmer King Suryavarman II 2️⃣ From the 16th century the temple came to be known as „Angkor Wat“ which means „City of temples“ 3️⃣ It’s the worlds largest religious monument and UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992 4️⃣ More than 300 ruins have been discovered so far and every year new ruins are discovered 5️⃣ Angkor was built as a Hindu temple but was changed to Buddhism in the late 12th century and is still a place of worship for Buddhists today 6️⃣ The monument is featured on Cambodia’s National flag since 1850. Afghanistan is the only other country with a religious monument - a mosque - on its flag 7️⃣ The walls of the buildings are decorated with thousands of bas-reliefs that tell stories dedicated to Hindu and Buddhist religion and history 8️⃣ More than 2 Million international tourist visit Angkor each year. While foreigners pay 37$ for day ticket, locals can visit for free . . Because I was short of time, i only visited this magical place for one day by tuk tuk, where you typically visit the hand full of famous temples. But there is so much more to discover! Hampi, also referred to as the Group of Monuments at Hampi, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in east-central Karnataka, India. Recently Hampi was marked 2nd in NewYork Times 52 must visit places in 2019. It became the centre of the Hindu Vijayanagara Empire capital in the 14th century. Chronicles left by Persian and European travellers, particularly the Portuguese, state Hampi was a prosperous, wealthy and grand city near the Tungabhadra River, with numerous temples, farms and trading markets. By 1500 CE, Hampi-Vijayanagara was the world's second-largest medieval-era city after Beijing, and probably India's richest at that time, attracting traders from Persia and Portugal. The Vijayanagara Empire was defeated by a coalition of Muslim sultanates; its capital was conquered, pillaged and destroyed by sultanate armies in 1565, after which Hampi remained in ruins. . . #ancient #travelrealindia #travelblogger #travelkarnataka #knowyourindia #karnataka #karnatakatourism #india #interestingfacts #travelgram #photography #travelworld #indianculture #indianheritage #beautifulindia #incredibleindia #photographer #world #ancientculture #hindustan #travelindia #beautifulkarnataka #unescoheritage #heritage #vijayanagaraempire #karnatakaphotography #travelindia #exploreindia #explorekarnataka #hampi #stonechariot @incredible_karnataka @travel_karnataka @karnataka_travelography @hampi_india @travel.of.india @karnataka_one @karnata_focus @real_karnataka @corners_of_karnataka @karnataka_pics @kannadanadu_ @karnatakaworld @photographers.of.karnataka @mirrorsofindia @karnataka.street.photography @namma.karnataka.photographers @karnataka__tourism_department @hindustan.pictures @mysuruu @allindiaphotography_ @indian_photography @instacanvassy @clickshotindia @travelers.of.india @namma_photography @indianshade @india.clicks @indian_photography @travel_uttar_karnataka @karnataka_travelgram @travel_in_karnataka
