A day on Naoshima, the art island in the Seto Inland Sea.
I started my day by visiting the Chichu Art Museum designed by Tadao Ando. Spent the time admiring Water De Maria's Time/Timeless/No Time, James Turrell's Open Sky, and Claude Monet's five water lilies paintings. .
The next stop is, of course, Yayoi Kusama's Yellow Pumpkin. Personally speaking, I like another pumpkin more. Arriving at Miyanoura Port, you will see the Red Pumpkin. Unfortunately, it was too dark to take nice shots of it when I went back to the port. :(
Minamidera, one of the Art House Project, is a James Turrell's piece inside a wooden building designed by Tadao Ando, too. Sitting on a bench in complete darkness, i have no mind, no thoughts. Then a grey rectangle gradually showed up in the middle and got lighter & lighter. It eventually turned white.
I went back to the Chichu Art Museum at around 4pm for the Night Program by James Turrell.
