Post op visit for stitches removal. Our dog had a surgery to remove bladder stones. It was Buster’s first surgery, let alone a surgery at a Japanese animal hospital. He stayed at the hospital for 7 days and was very happy to finally go home. We had a very nice doctor, Dr.Satou, who took care of Buster :)
Be good to each otter! I had a very romantic and ignorant idea of what a visit to a Tokyo pet café with rabbits and otters would be like. Perhaps I had imagined there to be a garden. Perhaps thinking (hoping) that they would be rescue animals and therefore this was a good deed.
It was nothing like it in reality! Most of these poor animals were kept in cages and only allowed out for the visitor to pet them. The ‘café’ was a basement flat with no windows and definitely no garden. I spent a long time with the otters giving them as much love as possible. They are extremely social and would sleep in your arms and be cuddled. But awake they would seek the company of the other otters to be close. And no doubt they would have preferred being in nature! This was my first and last visit to a pet café. It was a special experience being allowed close to such a lovely animal but my illusions and heart were broken. #begoodtoanimals #nomore #animalcafe #otter #befree #animallovers #animalwelfare #rescuetheotters #freeanimals #animalsinjapan
Just been flicking trough some old pics and noticed how many lovely snaps of animals I took in Japan.
The cat in the first picture was with its owner who shortly after popped it onto his shoulder and walked off in the busy Ginza district of Tokyo...as you do. 😻
The owls were in a lovely little Owl Cafe where you could hold and pose with all sorts of different Owls. Some were bit big and scary but the little ones were cute🦉
Note that spiders in Japan are HUGE. Beautiful when you see them in their massive webs in morning dew.
Also my first encounter with a praying mantice which was just sat in middle of a road.
The deer in Nara were tame and everywhere waiting to be fed crackers.🦌 One head butted me in the bum...and I thought I was greedy. 😒
The seal was trained to swim about like an of Japanese in a hot spring with that towel and tub. Impressive but very odd!
What a place....🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵
