Here is the basic story. The CIA did unethical mind control and mind washing experiments, sometimes on unwitting citizens, to research use of mainly LSD in hopes it will help with psychological torture and information gathering. It sounds like some made up conspiracy but it is a very real and very documented CIA project.
Here are some facts: •MK-ULTRA lasted from 1953 to 1973.
•The top secret project did not become public knowledge until the year 1975 during an investigation on illegal CIA activities world-wide.
•The operation was approved by Allan Dulles, director of the CIA.
•The study was of "the use of biological and chemical materials in altering human behaviour".
•There were more than 150 human experiments.
•The experiments included psychedelic drugs, paralytics electroshock therapy many times greater than the normal voltage, illegal drugs. It is reported some people were left with life long disabilities.
•For three years some subjects were subjected to traumatizing and aggressive sessions where their beliefs were torn apart as part of research into emotional responses to extreme stress under interrogation.
•Some of the people being used for the tests were not informed as to what the study was for nor were they aware they were on hallucinogenics. •Many of the people involved were drug addicted prisoners, sex workers and terminal cancer patients. "People who could not fight back" -Sidneg Gottlieb, chemist who introduced LSD to the CIA. •The experiments took place in Canada and the US between 1953 and 1964, mainly in hospitals, universities or prisons.
•Most of the documents were destroyed.
•Operation Midnight Climax was an MK-ULTRA project.
•Midnight Climax involved prostitutes employed by the governmemt luring men to CIA "safe houses" where the drug experiments took place. The men were then dosed with LSD, then CIA agents watched the drugs effects on the mens behaviour.
•Midnight Climax largely took place in San Francisco, California and NYC.
I'll post some more smaller facts on it in the comments. Let me know what you take from this. For me it is that you should always be critical of those in power, don't put anything past them.
