Homemade Lemon Jam.. recipe taken from an Italian lady, signorina Benedetta. 👋🏻😍
Quite simple and hassle-free...
I started out with a trial by using one large lemon instead of a dozen o'lemons and yielded me 140 g of jam. 😋
Whatever number or sizes of lemons you use what's important is weight here.. to succeed you will need same weight of sugar, ok? My cute lemon was about 100 grams 😅 so I used 100 grams sugar about a cup of it.
So, follow the recipe.. 😀
●Cut off both ends of lemons, slice'em up then soak with enough water and let sit for 24 hours, chilled.
●Warm up lemons in water on the stove (no boil) until a bit fine to touch, no "ouch!!😖", 😜 cool first then chill again for another day.
●Strain your tender lemons and transfer to fresh water in a pot over the stove, allow it to boil for 15 minutes (more lemons, more time) alongside your pot of syrup...👇
●In another pot.. put cups of water according to your needs and double the cups sugar. 1 cup water + 2 cups sugar= syrup. 😀
●Boil it until bubbly and water is no longer too liquidy. Don't turn it off.. transfer lemons alone to the syrup and bring it to a good boil for about 15 minutes or until bubbly.
●Spoon lemons while hot into sterile jars then pour syrup over to fill.. close lids tight and let jars sit. Don't miss out on the "pop" sounds they'll make in a few. ☺ A sign of a good seal. 😊👌🏻
Tip: You may process the jam in a food processor before canning.
