Bill Yen of MRT Design will join us at Anthology Architecture and Design Festival 2019.
BILL YEN founded MRT design, a twenty person firm that is active in commercial and public spatial design. He is a Shanghai-based architect that has been practicing in China since 2005. He graduated from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design in 2003. He came to China as a Visiting Scholar at Shanghai’s Tongji University with a research grant to study the Chinese urbanization. His currents interest and work focus on the evolution of physical retail in the face of online commerce and the advent of the experience economy. Specifically, how do Chinese brick and mortar stores redefine themselves in the age of rapidly changing socio-economic trends and online shopping? He has been actively engaged in teaching and has taught at Hong Kong University (Shanghai campus), Fudan University’s School of Visual Arts and served on jury panels across the country such as Tongji University.
