All of these Black Friday sales are seriously bumming me out. Having zero extra money really sucks. Hope I can get a job before my unemployment runs out or things are going to get ugly.
Started the day with 10 sets of paused pulls @ 245. After stalling for a bit by talking with @rein_meyers
I got in a giant set of Arnold’s, lateral raises, front raises, and bent over raises. I wish I had one of those @theragun
things right now. Maybe they’ll take pity on an old, unemployed power lifter and hook me up for Christmas? Doesn’t hurt to hope, and it’s free!
Yup, it’s Monday. That’s all I’m going to say about that.
8 sets of squats @ 175 felt crappy. 10 sets of incline bench @ 115 felt a little better. I’ve been sleeping like shit lately and it’s showing in my workouts. Adulting sucks. 😕
Oy vey, what a Friday.
I was feeling OK last night, so I went out to see a late showing of the Crimes of Grindelwald and got in around 2 AM. As soon as I was horizontal, I started having some significant gastric distress. I spent the next three hours making fairly regular trips to the throne room, and with apologies to Queensrÿche, experienced what can only be described as “Violent Liquidity.”
I finally drifted off to sleep sometime after 5 AM and, of course, was woken up by a telemarketer at 9:02 AM. After cursing him out I tried to get back to sleep, but it just wasn’t happening. I hung around the house for couple of hours to make sure there weren’t going to be any more gastric surprises, and headed to the gym.
Warmups and 5 sets of 2” Spoto presses @ 115 were good, then I set up for sumo pulls. My first warmup rep @ 135 was almost a disaster. Bracing in that stance was NOT a good idea, and barely averted a tragic event. I decided it was probably a good idea to skip deadlifts today.
Finished off with a 3 x 12 superset of hammer curls, skull crushers, and front raises. Good way to end the week. 😊
