The non leveled surface reflects the "untamed" nature of many parts of Libya, yet, peacefully at ease with itself. It also reminds me of the rocky nature of some of its shores, including those where illustrious Roman ruins stand, as well as some of the remnants of ancient cities like Ghadames, whose white, beige and sandy tones on uneven surfaces give it an aura of abandonment and unearthly all at the same time 😍

Today's inspiration, the feel and white cloth of this beautiful tuareg girl from Ghadames, Libya

Iranian artist Shirin Neshat shared two of her films, "Soliloquy" and "Rapture" in 1999 through the Bohen Foundation. Both works are large-scale two-channel simultaneous projections on facing walls. On one screen of the black-and-white Rapture, more than a hundred men dressed in white shirts and black pants move through a fortress overlooking the sea. On the other screen, dozens of women wearing full-length black veils move through an open landscape to the sea where they launch a boat as the men watch from inside the fortress.

Good morning β˜€οΈ can we say we've traveled if we haven't traveled at least once around our own selves?
Inspiration for my next piece. The colors of the African Tuareg.

My husband's wonderful retail design composition
Good morning. "You can tell what kind of day it will be by the morning." With this splendid inspiration that is my mom, it 's gonna be wonderful.
goodmorning 🎧
The most everything wonderful. Mommy 😽
As you've likely noticed, textural paintings inspire me and I love producing them too. This is a crab's home and my Textural inspiration for my next painting. Will oil and sand mix well and create a 3d effect? We'll have to see. πŸ•Ά
The definition of not just tolerance, but acceptance and co-existence. A mosque a few feet away from a lady in a bikini, just enjoying her Friday!
Reminiscing that time in #Tivoli one of the most understated destinations in the world! Can you believe this was someone's patio? Only 20 minutes from home.
Daydreaming of #gouna πŸ‰ Good morning everyone!

Good morning friends! Here's to the start to a wonderful week for everyone. Felt particularly inspired by a formless oak sculpture I recently bought in #Pondicherry #India - Is it an elephant?
Inspiration for my upcoming piece: #LeptisMagna , a city on the Libyan coast, and what the Romans considered to be the most beautiful city in the Empire after Rome. Reminds me of an adventurous road trip my dad and I took here after the revolution. Anything could have happened to us, but nothing did. It was peaceful, breezy, regal and the Mediterranean was incredibly majestic and wild. The touristic fun that could be had in #Libya if only it would get back up. πŸ™πŸΌ ΩΩŠΩ‚Ωˆ يا Ω„ΩŠΨ¨ΩŠΩŠΩ† "Leptis Magna" 40cm x 30cm Oil on canvas
It's getting a little messy. Doesn't help the ego 🀨
good morning friends, happy Saturday. I'll be attacking a few canvases from here. πŸ‘©πŸ½β€πŸŽ¨πŸ§
This atrium is probably among the most expensive ones in the world. I wonder if the brands in it can be considered art - like art, subjectively and irrationally priced? Irrationally because at least most art pieces, come as single pieces or a few beyond the first one. With fashion it's different - there are thousands of pieces, making them hardly exclusive - and they are all priced well above manufacturing costs. What are they actually selling? And what are buyers buying? Both questions can't be answered without addressing humankind's demonic side which acquires such items as a form of ascension expressing the innate desire to be divinity itself.
inspiration for an upcoming painting! Memories from #versailles πŸ‘ΈπŸ½

Wish you all a Happy Friday, and a reflection on the power of tangibility and design in all aspects of our society, including our spiritual beliefs. Have you seen the kaaba up close? The threading design on the black fabric gives the calligraphy dimension, making you feel closer to the words' meaning.
Good morning friends! This is a picture I took with my phone during a normal day in Rome, mid-week. What city in the world can beat its mundane fabulousness?
you can never get the full picture! inspiration from my beautiful honeymoon, for a next piece I'm working on for an upcoming exhibition in #AbuDhabi , entitled The Sea.
thank you skies for this beautiful morning πŸ‘©πŸ½β€πŸŽ¨
good morning 😸
during an otherwise boring week, at exit 50 and down the #BurjKhalifa road in an alleyway at @d3dubai are my paintings. But most importantly my friends who came to float on a cloud with me at this whole new thing. πŸ‘©πŸ½β€πŸŽ¨
The purest and most noble person I know, my mom. A creative at heart. A pianist, a chemist, an entrepreneur, marketer, graphic designer, a Master Chef in artisanal gelato, and now a mentor and an etiquette teacher for immigrant children who just arrived to Italy helping them integrate in a society far different than their own.

good morning β˜€οΈ it's been a year since I discovered @sarahsbag and bought this Arab vintage oldies goldies movies clutch - never gets old, an inspiration by itself every day! And not just because the movies captured here have moved generations, but also because the women actually making the bags had been dealt a tough hand in life.
😌 don't underestimate the importance of surrounding yourself with an environment that sparks interests in you.

Happy Sunday β˜€οΈ fabulous start to the week: woke up with a headache. water leak in both bathrooms. Dropped eggs on the floor. Kitty doesn't like her food, 2 accidents on the road to work. Fuel tank empty... the universe is cranky this morning! LOL. BUT on the bright side: feeling peaceful, it's a beautiful day out and the weather is perfect! Moral of the story: make the most of what you have.πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

#Fezzan (Libya) on my mind.
Good morning 😌
Have a wonderful weekend everyone! β˜€οΈ
I get very inspired when visiting remote craft shops. I always think of how brave the owners have been in turning a talent into a business. If you ever happen to visit #Pondicherry in #India and want to come home with a beautiful oak sculpture, I advise you go to a small crafts store called Auroville Woodwork. Sadly, many European sculpture resellers yield 1000% higher profits for the wonderful work of the owner and his son in Europe.
Like a typing error on an advertisement, or a wrong shoe size, a frame can make or break an image. Which one's your favorite? Type the image number! And thank you @desertframes_official for your kindness and patience in helping me choose the best frame for my work πŸ‘©πŸ½β€πŸŽ¨πŸ–Œ
I started painting again at 33 years old . Hadn't done so seriously since I was about 12 years old. And I attribute this to the new home I moved into with my husband, and to my husband himself. After moving countries 5x over the last decade, I've learned the value of stability and an environment filled with light in bringing out the best in you.
This little beauty is our daughter, her name is Saku, (inspired by the cherry tree blossoms) and loves the smell of varnish.
Thank you @arthubdubai for giving my paintings a home away from home over the next couple of weeks. What stood between this old dream and me was a conversation with you!
if only you could talk!
let's put a stop to senseless self-validating rituals and paint something we feel instead πŸ‘©πŸ½β€πŸŽ¨ .
This comes from the heart.
