Make yourself proud.”♥️ ✨when I was younger, even just a few years ago ...I used to truly believe that I needed someone else to make myself happy; to make me whole. When all of that shattered and reality came crashing down and I was all alone...I really felt it. I felt lost, confused, even angry many times. This self doubt and isolation lasted for months (and sometimes whispers in my ear, even now). Then one day.... I cannot say when because it probably cannot be summed up to one special day- I realized that I have become my best friend and my most trusted partner. I realized that I’ve been slowly salvaging happiness for months, simply by being myself and listening to my own heart. 🙏 As difficult as life continues to be, I now have true (true) friends, an awesome guy in my life, and a job as a teacher that I’m absolutely in love with. 🌿All of that to be said. If you find yourself in a place of unhappiness that seems to center around another person/people/lifestyle ...really look inward and ask yourself, “Do I want to be THIS version of myself for the rest of my days?” Any version of that question is worth asking. If the answer is no, it’s time to be brave (it took be far to long) and remove yourself from that poison. YOU are the only person you need for support, love, and motivation. The people that join your life afterwards will inevitably see your strength and become drawn to it, not try to conform you like the others before. 🌹 DM me if you’ve been feeling low or lost and unlike yourself because of others and we can share stories. You are loved and you can come back to love yourself ✌️

it doesn't have to be fancy.
as my body expands and softens to make enough room for two more souls, my practice too has expanded and softened. fewer vinyasas, more surrender. less structure, more listening. a tuning in to my body, a deep listening.
these days, i crave upper back release (carrying around babes in my arms), lower back relief (carrying around babes in my belly), and quietude. so i move in ways that dissolve tension from the day, i feel the grounded support from the floor, i surrender to the space around me, i listen to the soft. noises of the world, i remember that i'm breathing.
i come home to myself.
has been my favorite shape these days. i let my knees hang heavy in my hands, and the floor provides the most perfect counter-pressure to my SI joint (where the pelvis meets the spine). women are prone to SI discomfort, and this is heightened during pregnancy, as we carry increasing weight in the front of our bodies.

I *reallly* hate the word bitch. I broke up with a guy once for using it to refer to the seat i was sitting in (it's called PASSENGER) and i especially don't have time to educate on why referring to women as bitches is demeaning, hurtful and equates us to an animal that you can collar, kick and control....bye!
But, when the music is good enough (and by that i mean bad enough🔥) i can over look a few well placed b words. I can be a feminist and still liked to be spanked. Tell me I'm not the only one, who else can relate?
On a more serious note I believe we all want to be deeply desired, to feel free in our body and to feel sexy from the inside out and truly believe it - all the time!
If you work on embracing who you are, every single day just, things will change in your world. The voices that tell us that we are not enough — or are broken in some way — don't ever really go completely away but the do get better, I promise.
Self loving is a practice. Feeling sexy is a practice. Let's keep practicing together.
After having only 3 hours of night sleep, 3.5 hours of flight, 4 hours of road trip (but the view fantastic so I didn’t mind at all), and warm delicious Georgian food & half glass of wine last night -> ready to go to sleep. So tired, but what a beautiful day we had!
Have you tried paschimottanasana on a sofa? It creates shape of legs and supports so you can stretch your legs in more comfortable way if you have tight hamstrings. Try and let me know how you felt!

En la filosofía del yoga, el cuerpo tiene muchos centros de energía o ruedas, llamados chakras. Uno de los más importantes es el chakra del corazón o anahata chakra. Anahata se traduce del sánscrito como "no golpeado", es decir que el corazón se remonta a su plena e intacta naturaleza antes de que fuera herido por nada ni por nadie. La apertura del pecho simboliza la apertura del corazón, que crece en compasión y conexión con los otros y por lo tanto disminuye el aislamiento y la depresión. .

Vamanasana- short man. 🙏 I love his story.... Vamana (Sanskrit: वामन, IAST: Vāmana, lit. dwarf), is the fifth avatar of Hindu god Vishnu. He incarnates in a time of crisis to restore cosmic balance by creatively defeating the Asura king Mahabali, who had acquired disproportionate power over the universe. According to Hindu mythology, the noble demon king sponsors a sacrifice and gift giving ceremony to consolidate his power, and Vishnu appears at this ceremony as a dwarf Brahmin called Vamana. When Vamana's turn comes to receive a gift, Mahabali offers him whatever riches and material wealth he would like, but Vamana refuses everything and states he would just like three paces of land. Mahabali finds the dwarf's request amusingly small and irrevocably grants it. Vamana then grows into a giant of cosmic proportions. In one step he covers the earth, in another the heavens, and for the third, Mahabali offers his head on which Vamana steps, sending the demon king to the Patala (netherworld).

I went outside and hooped for over an hour today and it was fantastic. Took some time to do yoga afterwards, always so great to stretch the body 😊💜 I hope that everyone in Edmonton went outside for at least a little bit today, enjoy this weather !! 😍💜

I did yoga with 6 pounds of weights strapped to each ankle yesterday & today & I have to say- it felt super grounding. I have slowed way down in my personal practice. My breaths have grown much longer thus my movements match that rhythm. It feels so much like a moving meditation sometimes. Especially outside in the sun. My whole body takes in that supreme energy & just thrives. It’s intoxicating honestly. And I have made my meditation afterwards at least 20 minutes. It’s so good y’all. So fucking good. 🙏🏼🧘🏼♀️ namaste 🌞✨
Sometimes I'll have days that are more like a rollercoaster ride of emotion. Stress and anxiety build, then recede..rinse and repeat. Rinse and repeat. When it's all over, after I wash away the day from my body, I'm often left with a spinning head and a sense of depression that comes with trying to process everything. Life is weird y'all! But being alive is for the living and I'm just glad to be here; to be able to experience the broad range of emotions that I do, and to connect with so many people. Everything in life is impermanent and it’s days like today that I really appreciate that notion. Just like the waves in the ocean, the stressors and negative thoughts will pass. I'm just floating through life, learning to enjoy being tossed in the waves, finding peace and balance within. K byiii ✌🏼🖤🌔

You are as powerful as the earth beneath you. If only you choose to be. The next move is yours 🙏🏼 •

El cuerpo está en constante movimiento, incluso cuando todo está en calma y tenemos la sensación de estar quietos. La sangre está fluyendo por nuestras venas, el corazón palpitando, el pecho se mueve sutil, todo el cuerpo se mueve de forma sutil, tal como las hojas se mecen con el viento.
El movimiento es inherente a la vida.
Me costo tiempo entender que para las posturas de equilibrio, no tenía que resistir el inevitable movimiento, sino disfrutarlo, micro movimientos que contrarrestan con sutileza otros, resultaron ser la respuesta para mantenerme estable y cómoda en la postura.
Dejar de resistir.
