Well Well Well. What a difference editing can make. This is the same data from my earlier posted picture of Jupiter only I’ve learnt a bit more about stacking and editing. Still a long way to go because I’m not sure I knew what I was doing, however, the result is amazing. The original picture (Swipe Left 👈) was stacked in a different programme to this posts picture. I’m not going to name them as I am not qualified to say ones better than the other because I really don’t know what I’m doing, but I’m Loving It! . #astrophotography #astro_photography #astro_photography_ #astronomer #astronomy #astronomynerd #astrophoto #cosmos #cosmology #deepsky #galaxies #moon #planets #night #photography #planet #saxon #sky #solarsystem #space #stars #telescope #universe #jupiter #nebulae #nightskyphotography #nightsky

Jupiter-size walls of plasma are seen here suspended above the solar limb. ☀️ The invisible magnetic field holds the structure stable against gravity, in some cases for several days. In comparison, tiny spicules can be seen roaring on the solar face. Disturbances in the magnetic field and instabilities will eventually lead the structures to erupt as spectacular coronal mass ejections. Such a stable prominent is seen in this movie by IRIS Check out @universalastrography for more space posts Also post using #universalastrography for a chance to get featured . . . #space #astronomy #astrophysics #astronomylover #astronomyfacts #astro_photography #astro_photography_ #astronomical #astrophotography #astronaut #scienceteacher #scientist #science #sciencenerd #nerd #planets #nasa #spacephoto #spacephotography #universe #galaxy #nerd #solarsystem #star #exploration #galaxies #milkyway #sun #jupiter

Primordial Contact Binary 2014 MU69. Primordial contact binary 2014 MU69, also known as Ultima Thule, really is very red. In fact, it's the reddest outer solar system object ever visited by a spacecraft from Earth. Its reddish hue is believed to be due to organic materials on its surface. Ruddy color and tantalizing surface details seen in this composite image are based on data from the New Horizons spacecraft recorded during the January 1 flyby of the farthest world yet explored. Embedded in the smaller lobe Thule (top), the 8 kilometer wide feature nick named Maryland crater is the largest depression known on the surface of Ultima Thule. Transmission of data collected from the flyby continues, and will go on until the late summer 2020 as New Horizons speeds deeper into the dim and distant Kuiper Belt. . https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap190522.html #astronomie #astronomy #sterrenkunde #space #apod #universe #stargazing #astronomia #astrophysics #sterrenkunde #stargazing #astrophotography #universe #stars #planets #nebula #telescope #astrophotographer #nature #science #nightsky #cosmos #astrophoto #nasa #nightphotography #starrynight #astrofotografie
CHENNAI: Eight years after launching the last satellite in the Risat series, the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) began the expansion of its radar imaging satellite fleet in space with the successful launch of Risat-2B onboard a Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) on Wednesday morning. Risat uses synthetic aperture radar to provide all-weather surveillance. PSLV-C46 carrying Risat 2B -- which weighs 615kg -- lifted off from the first launch pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota at 5.30am, as scheduled. It was the 48th flight of PSLV and the 14th flight in 'core-alone' configuration where solid strap-on motors were not used. It was the third launch by Isro in 2019. Around 15 minutes after the lift-off, the four-stage rocket successfully placed the satellite in a 555km circular orbit. Isro chairman K Sivan said, “PSLV-C46 placed Risat-2B in a precise orbit of 555km with a 37-degree inclination.” #isro #isro 🚀 #isromissions #isro_india #isroindia #spacenews #space #spacex #astronomy #aeronautics
Have you missed me? Three Little Búhos has moved house! I've been super busy behind the scenes decorating and setting up my brand new office. It's still rather messy, and definitely a work in progress, but it is already a huge improvement on the old little cubbyhole I was using. If you scroll along, you can see that I was previously running my business from an area the size of a single twin bed. Now I have a whole little building, complete with kitchenette, and it's a whole new era for TLB. I now have room to work on my own designs, so I will be working on developing some of my own products, using hand drawn images. I will also be expanding my product range over the next couple of months, so expect lots of pretty new goodies! I'm so excited. Here's to progress 💜 www.threelittlebuhos.etsy.com #lbloggers #threelittlebuhos #threelittlebuhosstationery #etsyshop

This animation illustrates Jupiter's powerful magnetic field, based on data from the @NASAJuno probe. The gray lines (called field lines) show the field's direction in space, and the deepness of the color corresponds to the strength of the magnetic field. The Great Blue Spot, an-invisible-to-the-eye concentration of magnetic field near the equator, stands out as a particularly strong feature. Information from Juno recently revealed that atmospheric winds deep inside Jupiter are likely responsible for variations in its magnetic field. The discovery will help scientists further understand the giant planet's interior structure — as well as changes in Earth's magnetic field. Learn more about Jupiter and Juno at solarsystem.nasa.gov. Lagoon Nebula 🔭⠀⠀ -⠀ At the center of the photo, a monster young star 200,000 times brighter than our Sun is blasting powerful ultraviolet radiation and hurricane-like stellar winds, carving out a fantasy landscape of ridges, cavities, and mountains of gas and dust.⠀⠀ This mayhem is all happening at the heart of the Lagoon Nebula, a vast stellar nursery located 4,000 light-years away and visible in binoculars simply as a smudge of light with a bright core.⠀⠀ The giant star, called Herschel 36, is bursting out of its natal cocoon of material, unleashing blistering radiation and torrential stellar winds (streams of subatomic particles) that push dust away in curtain-like sheets. This action resembles the Sun bursting through the clouds at the end of an afternoon thunderstorm that showers sheets of rainfall.⠀⠀ -⠀ Credit: @thehubblescope ⠀⠀ -⠀ #astronomy #space #science #beauty #earth #physics #spacetravel #solarsystem #universe #cosmos #human #humanrace #milkyway #astronomyposts #astronomypicturesdaily #sky #nature #photography #love #astronomygeek #beauty #friends #life #astronomynerd #astronomyfacts #astronomyphotos #mars #planet #night #travel "

This month, in May, there will be two celestial events to look forward to. The Moon will share sky-space with Jupiter and Saturn on two distinct days.Jupiter takes almost 12 years to complete one orbit around the Sun and Saturn takes almost 30 years to complete an orbit. So when they meet, it will be a conjunction, and since it takes so long for them to complete one orbit, their conjunction will be, well, great. The Moon is going through a Waning Gibbous phase which occurs for the first seven days after its full moon (18 May 2019). The illumination of the moon will keep on decreasing until it reaches the first Quater where the surface will be 50 percent illuminated. .#moon #moons #moon 🌙 #moonshot #moonphases #moonphase #moonphasewatch #moonphasetoday #moonphasewatches #phasesofthemoon #jupiter #earth #spacex #space #nightsky #astronomy #cosmology

Say hello to NGC2359 aka Thor’s Helmet Nebula. Located in the constellation Canis Major, this is an emission Nebula, a nebula formed of ionized gases from high energy photons from near by hot stars. In this nebula, the central star Wolf-Rayet, is an extremely hot star thought to be in pre-supernova stage. The Thor’s Helmet Nebula is approximately 12,000 light years away, and is 30 light years in size [Via Wikipedia]. ////// The first image is from RGB data, and second image is RGB plus narrowband. Follow the handle of the Big Dipper away from the dipper's bowl until you get to the handle's last bright star. Then, just slide your telescope a little south and west and you might find this stunning pair of interacting galaxies, the 51st entry in Charles Messier famous catalog. Perhaps the original spiral nebula, the large galaxy with well defined spiral structure is also cataloged as NGC 5194. Its spiral arms and dust lanes clearly sweep in front of its companion galaxy (right), NGC 5195. The pair are about 31 million light-years distant and officially lie within the angular boundaries of the small constellation Canes Venatici. Though M51 looks faint and fuzzy to the eye, deep images like this one can reveal striking colors and the faint tidal debris around the smaller galaxy. © Nasa . #amazing #astronomy #nasabeyond #constellation #creation #galaxy #hubble #hubbletelescope #interstellar #nature #nasa #cosmos #hubblehangout #space #universe #scripture #naturelovers #cosmology #science #hst #iss #spacex #deepspace #explore #star #stars #nebula
