This isn’t a post about eating disorders, although looking at my 2016 shape, you might think so. I never had an eating disorder, even if some of you might wonder what I was thinking then. I can’t say that particular shape was fully planned... but the transformation that led to it (and to today) was. So that’s what this is about: taking control and finding balance. I was never fat, not really. Out of shape, maybe, but not fat. 2015 me was the result of a life of eating anything I liked, being sedentary, and generally not being aware that you could literally change your physical composition, your body (the only one you have), and even your life. At will. On purpose. Well, maybe not completely unaware. Simply unaware that I, myself, was capable of it. Packing your bags and leaving your life behind to go live in anther country, as I did when I came to Canada, was eye opening. Scary. But I did it. So then I started wondering what else I could do. I embarked on a journey to discover that. I took control. I was lucky to land within a group of fitness-minded friends who showed me how to do it. 2016 me was the result of one year of following a flexible diet (IIFYM) with calorie restriction, and moderate gym work. The plan was to lose my fat, and then to gain some muscle. Little did I know how little muscle I actually had in the first place, and how skinny I would end up looking. This morning I was running a little low on time, so instead of going around to a bunch of different machines I decided to stick with one! I claimed a cable and WOW I felt the burn 🦵🏽🔥⁣ ⁣ For this workout I did supersets trying to go through the whole thing with as little rest as possible (aka as long as it took to change exercises). ⁣ ⁣ I got in and out in only about 30 minutes. Transform 20 Sample Workout! The sample workout debuted tonight and I had to try it even though I already did my Obsession workout this morning! Because really?! 1. It was 20 minutes long and didn’t go at the same speed as a normal workout so you could get adjusted to the step. 2. If I look confused, I totally am! I am in the coaches test group and have been on several calls with Shaun but this was my first time with the workout. So I was constantly checking to see what was going on. Shaun T usually has complex moves! 3. In the last video, we are doing squat hops with one leg up on the step and then off. I got cut off and you can’t see the step but that’s what’s happening. 4. This workout is part of my month of preparation for the premier of Transform 20 January 20th so I’ll be posting more moves! 5. It was a lot of fun and I’m super excited for the rest! Train smarter, not more. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A good way to end your weight training workout is with a little HIIT circuit to really get your heart rate up and maximize that excess post-workout oxygen consumption (EPOC). High intensity invernal training will elevate your heart rate and caloric output even after you’re done working out. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Grab yourself a box or bench and repeat this circuit 3 times: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1️⃣ elevated pushups 2️⃣ reverse lunge to step up 3️⃣ tricep dips 4️⃣ box jumps ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔁10 reps of each exercise with no rest between exercises. Take a 30-second rest between exercises. ENJOY!
If this looks painful just bear with me. I’m the least flexible person in the world and I can do this bicep exercise, no problem. To preform this bicep exercise simply grab your ankle and curl your leg toward you. To keep your balance lean on the wall with your back side. Not flexible like myself? No problem! Simply lean over your leg like I am in the clip. This allows you you to get a full range of motion with your bicep, without having to lift your leg crazy high! When I was in university I would finish a workout and wonder how many calories I just burned and if my body was any closer to being perfect. I would spend endless amounts of time on cardio and copying people do things with weights. . Today, I finished a workout wondering when I should go buy heavier weights for myself. Feeling strong, and CONFIDENT. I actually workout LESS than I used too. A balanced meal plan, positive mindset, and a program in my own condo has shown me what I thought was impossible. . Let me tell ya, it feels good to feel good 💪🏼

Coming in to week 3 and really beginning to see some gainzzzz 🤗 I was thinking about what motivational talk I wanted to add today...⁣ ⁣ But instead I wanted to share a piece of my story I haven’t yet. It’s not easy for me but if I can help one other girl who is struggling like I did than I completed my purpose 💕⁣ ⁣ When I was going through my rough phase (ya know when I lived off of whiskey + pizza and bad decisions were my only decisions) I struggled with self destructive behavior. In a few ways. ⁣ ⁣ I’m not 100% ready to share the details of all that. Just know that I mentally tortured myself. Hurt my own soul and sometimes my body. ⁣ ⁣ It wasn’t until recently that I realized WHY I did that to myself. I always used to shrug it off with an “idk”. Because I didn’t want to face it. ⁣ ⁣ But here’s the truth. I didn’t believe I was worth taking care of myself. ⁣ I felt broken, lost and unworthy of a lot of things. ⁣ Unworthy of others love and my own 🥺⁣ ⁣ Shitty right?? I would love to tell you that some big epiphany happened. ⁣ But it didn’t. ⁣ ⁣ I healed little by little. Without even realizing it. ⁣ ⁣ The workouts I began built my strength back up physically and mentally. And my character. ⁣ ⁣ Fueling my body with healthy foods also fueled my mind and helped me to think more clearly. ⁣ ⁣ Reading inspirational material each day filled me with hope, dreams and even more important: belief in myself. ⁣ ⁣ Nurturing the realionships in my life helped me to build trust again. ⁣ ⁣ And somewhere along the way I began to learn the importance of self love + self respect ✊🏽 ⁣ ⁣ Working out is so much more than a lean bod. (Even though that’s obviously a jammin’ part of the deal) ⁣ ⁣ It builds character. ⁣ It builds confidence. ⁣ It helps you to heal. ⁣ It can mean so many things to so many people. ⁣ ⁣ I urge you to find out how it can change your life. ⁣ And no. I won’t apologize for the cheesiness. ⁣ ⁣ Because picking up those weights or tying those sneaks for a run can change your entire life. A ripple effect into every area. ⁣ ⁣ It can give you your power back 💋

Balance. 🤸🏻‍♀️ Some days we have it and some days we don’t. . . I use to think you had to have everything perfect - all your ducks in a row - for life to be balanced. I’d place more focus or importance on things that actually made me teeter. Life isn’t about how much money you earn, the fancy car and house, the number of FB friends, etc.... . . It’s about who put in the center of your life. I spent years placing everything but Christ in my center and life was rocky. I feel incredibly balanced with Him at the center. 💕 I don’t think that’s a coincidence. . . When life throws you off balance, take a step back, breathe and focus on Christ. Today’s workout was a bit of a struggle... my legs are super sore from yesterday’s Sneak Peek workout and I found it harder to find my “groove”. . . That’s ok though ~ the fact that I’m a little sore is a good thing! It’s very normal to be a little sore after you try out a new workout or program. The best thing you can do for sore muscles is to KEEP MOVING & embrace the burn. . It’s always a good idea to change up your workout. You don’t want to do the same exercises repeatedly or you may plateau or lose interest. I love the variety of programs I have available to me ~ I’m always switching it up, for maximum results and I don’t get bored! Cinnamon Oatmeal Banana Bread • * 3 tbsp. coconut oil melted * 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce * 3 tbsp. honey * 3 tbsp. maple syrup * 2 eggs * 1.25 cups mashed bananas (around 3 bananas) * 1/4 cup almond milk * 3 tsp. cinnamon * 1 tsp vanilla extract * 1 tsp baking soda * 1/2 tsp salt * 1 cups white whole wheat flour * 1 cup rolled oats * 1/2 cup dairy free chips • Bake at 350 for 45-55 min until golden brown and toothpick comes out clean!

15 min body weight abs for the week 🎉🎉 found fitness sf relatively empty for once so i took the time to film my ab exercises today! i’m far too sore to work anything else anyhow 👀👀👀 1. slow bicycle legs - 20 per leg 2. pole climbers - 15x per leg 3. dolphin plank - 15x 4. alternating regular /oblique mtn climber - 20 per side 5. plank with hip twist - 15 FULL rotations (death - my least fave - sorry to my clients who i make do this constantly ☹️☹️☹️☹️)

I fell off track... I had dinner with my friends... I had a drink... I am a failure... this isn’t for me.... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I hear this a lot. I also use to feel like this a lot and speak these things to myself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m here to tell you number 1, it’s okay if you go out with your friends or family and have an amazing meal and time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am also here to tell you number 2, that it’s okay to continue on your journey the VERY NEXT DAY. Don’t fool yourself in starting on “Monday” or “next month.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I use to do this. I would feel bad about myself for not sticking to my plan. Now, I put these things in my plan, I enjoy family and food. The next day? I bloody love summer 🐙 You guys spoke and I want to deliver so workouts for at home will be a bit more of the focus for the Christmas period. Here's a quick one you can do anywhere! 1️⃣ Walkouts to diagonal backwards reach 2️⃣ Downward dog to Tricep push up 3️⃣ Half Burpee heel click 4️⃣ Crab heel touch 45/15 work to rest ratio 4 rounds - complete with 1 minute rest between rounds or if you want a bit more of a challenge complete consecutively for a 16 minute total workout out!!

Day 340: #nonscalevictories - My scale hasnt moved but every day I feel stronger. Instead of rolling myself to the ground I literally hold and pull myself up 😝 if you would of told me, I would be here today, I wont of believed you. I suffer with my back from a young age and as I got older it got worse. I limited my physical active because the pain was crippling and everytime I try to loose weight something always goes wrong. But not this year. I took charge of my life and started to live again. Despite the pain, the colds, prolapse, pcos and my thyroid dropping out of range, I am here!
