Brilliant start from Asian Giants Japan as Shinji Kagawa & friends stole three major points from 10-man Colombia. Japan took advantage of an early red card to Carlos Sànchez followed by a beautifully taken penalty by Shinji Kagawa. After the incident, Colombia had lost their creativity to attack and tends to “park the bus”. After the second half, Colombian midfielder Quintero scores from a beautiful free-kick and equalizes for Japan. A few minutes later, James Rodriguez was brought on hoping to turn the tides. However, it was not enough as Osako’s 73rd minute header seals the 3 points until the final whistle.
Following this win, Japan have officially become the first Asian team to score two goals against a South American nation in a World Cup. Do you think Japan can survive the remaining group fixtures? How far can they go?
