If you don’t have an air fryer.... I HIGHLY suggest that you get one!!! I have made so many thing in my air fryer but my favorite is “fried” orange roughy 😊 The air fryer crisps it just right with no need for unhealthy oils!! While it’s totally possible and healthy to fry with avocado oil, it is super expensive so I prefer to fry without any oil at all!
I coated orange roughy in a mixture of almond milk and a gelatin egg (regular egg works even better if you can have them). Then I coated it in a mixture of almond flour and various herbs, garlic, and salt!
Tossed it in the air fryer and voila 🙌🏼 I had perfectly healthy and fried fish! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Second food related post of the day... But y'all these AIP biscuits and gravy are so good I could cry. Starting to feel not so deprived anymore and I just want to rejoice in that for a little while. Making pumpkin pie tonight, let's hope that turns out just as good! 😍 •Recipe for AIP biscuits (from heatherhollandaise.com): ~2 cups cassava flour
~1/2 tsp baking soda
~1 tsp salt (I used sea salt)
~1/2 cup shortening (I used Nutiva palm shortening)
~1 tsp honey
~1 TBSP apple cider vinegar
~1 cup coconut milk (I used Thai Kitchen canned organic unsweetened coconut milk, make sure to pour in a bowl and stir first before using in recipe!) The way I made them was slightly different than her directions, as my dough wasn't kneadable and I used a cupcake pan instead. Oven to 425. Combine flour, baking soda, finely ground sea salt in large bowl. Add shorting by the tablespoons and mix really well. Create a well in the middle and add milk, vinegar, and honey. Use palm shortening to grease cupcake pan well and lightly press big spoonfuls of dough in each spot, about 3/4 to top. Bake for 15 minutes and eat warm 😍 •For the gravy I just used the rest of the turkey breakfast sausage I had left, chopped that up into gravy sized bits and once it was cooked, I added about half a can on the coconut milk (rest left over from can), 1/4 to 1/3 cup free range chicken broth (Aldi's), 2 almost 3 tsp of tapioca starch, and a few grinds of sea salt. Snack 1: plum, clemantine, celery sticks, dried coconut
Allergic to clemantine as well 😐 i have to omit it
Lunch : lamb shoulder cooked with onion , garlic, ginger, saffron, turmeric, cloves. Marrow stew with sated onion and garlic,chopped coriander and basil and broth. Spinach, letuce, cucamber,red grapes, carrot, olive oil
Snack 2 : plum ,celery sticks, dried coconut
Dinner : blended soup of white radished and their leaves, spring onions and cauli flower with meat broth , diced chicken breast, parsely and carrot . Was so yummy😍

This is the first time I’m making liver in my crockpot. It turned out very well. So: chicken livers with chicken breast and a lot of onions cooked in the #slowcooker

New Recipe! Marinated Onions!
Weekends are usually my time to prep what I can for the upcoming week. These marinated onions are a staple in our house and I make them almost every weekend.
Red onions left alone have a sharp, bitter taste that I personally don’t like. Marinating these onions takes the bitter edge off and highlights the natural sweetness of the onions. We put these on salads, wraps, burgers, stuffed sweet potatoes, just about everything! When we put these out for company, they usually try a small amount, go back for a large second portion and then ask how to make these. So, I’m telling you, it’s a winner for having friends over too!
🌿1 red onion thinly sliced
🌿1/4 cup vinegar (I like red wine vinegar, but ACV works too)
🌿1 cup olive oil
🌿1 tsp dried oregano
🌿1/4 tsp salt
👉Combine all ingredients in a glass bowl and let it sit for 15-60 minutes before serving. If the onions are not completely submerged, stir once during the marinated process to ensure all onions get equally marinated. 👉Store leftovers in the fridge and take out 30 minutes before serving (the olive oil solidifies in the fridge and needs to come to room temperature).
👉These last for ~1 week in the fridge. If any are left after a week, strain the onions out and use the onion infused oil for a salad dressing or marinade.

Salty Olive Biscuits (KETO, Paleo, Low Carb, Grain Free).
One biscuit has:
4.8 g protein
2 g net carbs
17.2 g fat
+ they are rich in vitamin e and magnesium.
Here are the ingredients (makes 18 biscuits):
- 3 cups of almond flour
- 2 tsp of salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp oregano
- 1 tbsp dry parsley
- 1 avocado
- 3 tbsp soft lard or ghee or butter (I used butter today)
- 5 tbsp coconut oil (soft but not completely melted)
- 5 egg yolks
- 4 chopped olives

These biscuits are absolutely amazing, and they make such an awesome treat.
So soft and crumbly and yet they hold their shape so well. Unfortunately my body doesn’t handle cheese well, otherwise I would have added some grated Parmesan and they would have probably been one of the best things ever. Even without the cheese though, they are absolutely fantastic!
I have been practicing food combining for some time now, and usually stay away from combining two proteins in one meal, such as eggs and nuts, but I have missed baking so badly, that I decided to give it a try and it seems to be ok, no bloating, no digestive issues, I had two biscuits and all was good on my end. Gosh, this was such a delicious treat and the house smells amazing!

Yup, today is the first day of fall. It's actually my favorite season. I just love the warm days and cool, crisp nights. And cozy sweaters. LOVE cozy sweaters. Not to mention the change in produce that happens at the farmers' market!
But before I settle into the new season, I'll be making some end of summer, Spicy Corn Chowder. It's still a little taste of summer, but a nice introduction to warming, fall soups.
Now, I can't do dairy, so the traditional chowder needed a little upgrade. And you'll never believe how I was able to achieve the creamy consistency.
Two words. Cashews & Cauliflower.
Honestly these two ingredients are game changers for making anything creamy. And if you can't do nuts, try it with just the cauliflower. It will still be amazing.
And soup just isn't the same without a slice of crispy bread. Personally, I love a toasted piece of sourdough from @brd_srsly.

There is a lot of misinformation out there on what it means to be "gluten free", right down to the labeling laws that allow Certified Gluten Free Foods to still allow a very small amount of gluten to be present in the item being tested. Celiacs and those who HAVE to avoid gluten have been told that we can have a lot of things we can't, and because of that, we don't think that maybe the herbal tea or peppercorns I picked up at the grocery store is what is making me feel horrible today...or maybe those nuts from the Simple Truth line at Kroger (not GF!) or something as seemingly harmless as a can of chickpeas (rarely GF!) is contributing to the constant flares I'm experiencing. ⠀⠀
So how does this play a role in Herbalism? To put it simply, alcohol used for extractions and possible cross contamination from the herbs during processing/packaging. Some people can handle certain grain derived alcohols like Everclear, which is what most herbalists use for tinctures. I absolutely cannot. It makes me so sick! So I use certified gluten free Tito's Vodka which hasn't given me any issues and ultimately my goal is to switch to cane alcohol. And for the herbs...we source as much as we can from local farmers who do not grow or process wheat, barley, or rye. I have also come to trust a few bulk suppliers but you can rest assured that our items are totally gluten free! I want people like me, who have struggled with the healing process, to feel totally safe consuming our products. AND to feel like someone is listening to them and their struggles, to feel like someone cares, and that someone is there to serve their specific needs. We are exactly that ✨
RECIPE BELOW // Garlic-Amino Chicken Kebabs
These kebabs are a crowd pleaser and perfect for game day! 🏈
This quick marinade works its magic tenderizing the chicken due to enzymes in the pineapple juice, and creates a nice sweet and savory sauce with the coconut aminos.
🌿 1 cup pineapple juice
🌿 ½ cup coconut aminos
🌿 2 tbsp coconut sugar (optional)
🌿 2 cloves garlic, minced
🌿 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cubed
🌿 3 large zucchini, cut into 1" rounds
🌿 8 oz small mushrooms
🌿 1 tbsp coconut oil, melted
🌿 Sea salt, to taste
🌿 12 wooden or stainless skewers
👉 Heat the pineapple juice, coconut aminos, coconut sugar, and garlic in a small saucepan on medium heat, stirring, until the coconut sugar dissolves. Set aside and let cool.
👉 When the marinade has cooled, add to a bag or container with the chicken. Let marinate in the refrigerator for 30min, turning if needed (but no longer!). If you are using wooden skewers, place them in a water bath while the chicken is marinating — this decreases the likelihood that they will burn on the grill.
👉 While the chicken is marinating, place the zucchini and mushrooms in a large bowl and toss with the coconut oil and salt.
👉 When the chicken has finished marinating, discard the marinade, and skewer the vegetables and chicken cubes evenly.
👉 Get your grill nice and hot (if you are using charcoal, you want red coals). Place the kebabs on the grill and cook for 3 minutes, turn, another 3 minutes, and then rearrange and turn for a final 3 minutes, making sure that all the kebabs have had exposure to the hottest part of the grill.
👉 Serve immediately!

I love making eggs this way! I throw down some ghee, spinach & tomatoes in a cast iron skillet, add some eggs from our 🐓, sprinkle it with an aged, raw, grass fed cheese, and cover for a while on medium-low. The results are perfectly runny, no fuss eggs (because you don’t have to flip them!). .

TIME TO ELIMINATE 😬😄 I woke up yesterday with clarity: I need to get back on AUTOIMMUNE PALEO. The FODMAP-diet has been, frankly, useless. Here are my problems with it: 1) it's not very standardized -it's hard to find the correct information 🤷🏼♀️2) It keeps common allergens, such as dairy 🙅🏼♀️ 3) Some things are reduced but not eliminated -complicated!! 🤦🏼♀️ Finally, 4) It does not address underlying issues! I have been getting back the stuffiness, little pains etc. The AIP diet has been great for reducing inflammation and calming down the nervous system so I don't have to worry about the darn fodmaps 💁🏼♀️ So heyy, if this sounds promising to you, I'll be happy to tell ya aaall about it -plus I could use the peer support! Reisen und Autoimmunprotokoll… ist das möglich? Ja, absolut! Mit etwas Planung und Vorbereitung im Vorfeld, ein bisschen Improvisation, Kreativität und einer entspannten Einstellung kann es wunderbar und stressfrei funktionieren.
Auch wenn einen AIP auf Reisen zu Beginn erstmal vor eine Herausforderung stellt, sollte sich niemand davon abhalten lassen, denn Reisen ist Nahrung für die Seele, läßt positive Energien fließen, macht glücklich, bringt Inspirationen… und all das fördert den Heilungsprozess.
Ob ich AIP am liebsten auch mal unterbrechen und einfach gerne essen würde, was mir über den Weg läuft? Nein, denn es ist keine Diät für mich, sondern ein Lifestyle der mich gesund und glücklich macht, mir Kraft und Energie gibt, das Leben erblühen lässt. Das ist es absolut wert.

Запеченная свиная шея и разное прекрасное.
На Аип свинину можно и нужно включать в меню. Честно скажу, я не люблю жирное мясо, а салом меня так и вовсе можно пытать, но домашние любят, поэтому иногда готовлю)
Единственное, что я научилась есть, это бекон. Вернее сырая грудинка, тонко нарезанная и запеченная со специями в духовке, до хрустящего состояния.
И вот не так давно вдруг мне понравилось свиное сердце. Не думаю, что рецепты с ним кому-то будут интересны (или интересны?), но я все равно напишу:) Это может быть очень вкусно, если знать как готовить.
Уважаемые источники пишут, что свинину стоит готовить до 70, максимум 72 градусов, а то и значительно ниже. Я на это пойти не могу, готовлю до 75, чаще 80 градусов.
Если термометра нет (лучше купить), можно проткнуть запеченное мясо и если сок прозрачный, все готово. Ну и жирный отруб пересушить значительно сложнее. 🌱
1,5 кг свиной шеи
5 зубчиков чеснока
2 ст. л. сушеного базилика
2 ч. л. сушеного имбиря или хрена
измельченная морская соль
На обычном Палео и Кето + свежемолотый черный перец, сладкая копченая и острая паприка.
Мясо вымыть (можно не мыть, я все мою, иначе не могу:), обсушить бумажными полотенцами. Перевязать кухонной нитью. Как это сделать быстро и просто, можно посмотреть на YouTube.
Чеснок измельчить. Натереть мясо солью, чесноком, посыпать смесью базилика с имбирем.
Очень плотно завернуть в пищевую пленку (если это неприемлемо, то сначала в бумагу для выпечки), убрать в холодильник на ночь, можно на сутки, а в нулевой камере и двое суток себя прекрасно чувствует.
Застелить противень бумагой для выпечки, духовку разогреть до 180 градусов, верхний и нижний нагрев, без конвекции.
Мясо достать из холодильника заранее, завернуть в три слоя бумаги для выпечки, положить на подготовленный противень, запекать 1,5 часа.
Разрезать бумагу, освободив мясо, запекать до желаемой корочки в режиме верхний гриль + конвекция.
Достать готовое мясо из духовки, обязательно дать постоять минут 15-20 и можно нарезать, вкусно не только в горячем, но и в холодном виде.
