🔥 QUICK TIPS FOR HEALTH These fires have been devastating - and those of us in CA whose communities are not on fire are also affected through toxic air quality - it’s currently in the red zone, the worst air quality in the world. Here in Santa Cruz, my daughter’s school is on acres of pristine redwood forest and they can’t go outside for recess because the air is so bad. Students & friends are getting sick, depleted/low energy, getting headaches, and I’ve been getting a lot of questions from folks. Its Vata season, and the dryness of this season can already be harsh on our bodies without the added effects of toxic air pollutants. So CA folks: Please keep helping one another, donating supplies for those affected by the fire as we’ve been collecting, offering shelter, volunteering, etc - but please don’t forget to take care of yourself and your family too. As they say, put on your own oxygen mask first. We need you. TRY THESE small yet effective ways to support health right now . ————— 💦Neti pot - purifies nasal cavity/sinuses (follow your pot’s directions for salt to water solution) . 💨Nasya - oil the inside of nose with organic unrefined sesame oil, or other organic oils (helps relieve dryness + lubricates the nasal cavity/sinuses, creating a barrier against environmental pollutants) . ☕️ Sip on warm licorice root tea - slippery elm and marshmallow root work great too - for soothing the lungs. I really love the information given during this seminar from Dr. Maté. A lot of times we see a video like this and think, well I’m not a parent so I don’t need to watch it. Well y’all, I’m not a parent either but it gives immense insight into who you are , who your parents were as kids , where everyone on the planet stands really as a soul inside a human body . It’s very good and I recommend listening on your way to work/school, from work/school , traveling , etc. little spurts of YouTube , podcasts , and audio books are great ways to keep your intellect going and then you can use the gaps to process the information or implement it into your practice . Claudia will lead a meditation and shamanic journey to help deepen and integrate this new awareness. ​ Claudia Gukeisen, MA, CAHC, is a Certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor and a Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra Teacher. She trained at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, MA. She is also a Shamanic Reiki Healing Master Practitioner and a 500hr Yoga Kripalu Ayurveda Yoga Teacher registered with Yoga Alliance.
