I used to really struggle with this. When I would eat one thing off plan I’d go all out and eat ALL THE THINGS. Even if you have ice cream before breakfast you can still have a salad for lunch. Baby steps!
After today's session (lots of hanging out, working on lessening the body space bubble and reactivity to my movement around him, more touching exercises, and an introduction to the covered ring, wash stall, and tacking up area...) #EasterTwilightOnyx
got introduced to a couple of hopefully future herd members. There was a minimum of drama, much to my relief. It'll be interesting to see how he is about being caught tomorrow. The last couple days he's been walking to me when I've gone to get him. #horsefarmdays #babysteps #trainingproject
No words needed here. Congrats to the uso on finally coming through with the goods. If your serious about 7s then hit him up.
Some people have been asking me what Im doing these days for work... obviously I’ve been travelling pursuing things like Ambassador roles, Coaching, Guest Speaking, Player Assoc representation and dont forget trying to finish my studies and being Bob the builder in between 😅 basically just doing what I need to do to build a new career after playing footy. Being Self Employed is something I always wanted to try while looking for the right job but obviously it involves alot of planning, networking and a bit of luck, in my case praying lol so just to make it all official heres my Company name/logo 🤓 been a few years deciding 🤦🏻♂️ but stoked its done.
Help me spread the word by “liking” and sharing my post otherwise get in touch if you’re keen to talk business.

Things on my heart today. Maybe they’re messages you need to be reminded of too:⠀
Each step is progress. Sometimes meditation and a bath and reading and making food that feels soothing and nourishing and what your body craves are all steps you need to take in the morning in order to have an inspired and productive day. Sometimes those steps are your whole day. Sometimes consciously slowing down and “giving in” to the things you keep pushing aside is your way forward and through. ⠀
Spent a lot of introspective time journaling, writing down all the things I’m release with tonight’s full moon, a setting goals and intentions for the rest of 2018 and into 2019. ⠀
for the reminder and permission to slow down. Take this as your permission slip too, friends. ⠀
Pink velvet and my new giant paper lanterns. While we are still saving for the big things - a garage and re stumping I’m playing with cheap and cheerful light fittings and a rug that’s to small, but it will do for now! #babysteps
Looked at my little stash today and saw so much more. Positive vibes. Jesus. Love. Two of my angels. 💙🙌🏼 Keep reaching for the sky, y’all! XOXO
Benched with accessory bis and tris today. 95 is my new training max and I’m going to test my PR in a couple days. Had my bro record to show me the inconsistencies in my lifting symmetry. My right shoulder/elbow tends to flare out more and take over when I’m tired.
Been doing a bit of reading on how your period affects lifting. In a nutshell:
The follicular phase ( between end of period and ovulation) is when women should focus on progress. It's characterized by a higher tolerance for pain and increasing levels of endurance.
Insulin sensitivity is higher during the follicular phase. Your body will be more prone to using carbs to fuel muscle gains.
During ovulation, high estrogen levels can make women more prone to injury.
During the luteal phase, the female body will rely more on fat as a fuel source.
Basically right after your period is when you should shoot for your PR’s.
Science and the human body is amazing. Seems to be a never ending amount of discovery. I love it.
If you want to read more I recommend googling “The Hormone Cycle and Female Lifters” for an interesting and informative read.
Happy lifting! 📷: @grant_eastoff
I just couldn’t outrun my anxiety today... & then I realized I should stop running and address it. #babysteps #anxiety
I absolutely refuse to drink Starbucks coffee, but occasionally find myself in there looking for some type of food in a pinch (because they are everyfreakingwhere and convenient). Of course, I’ve typically been highly disappointed by the lack of any decent vegan options. 🌱
That said, kudos to Starbucks for adding some new intentional vegan options, hoping they are popular and that popularity leads to more and better options. #babysteps #seattlevegan #pnwvegan #plantbased #starbucksvegan #veganforeverything #bethechange
This is a personal goal of mine. I tend to focus on the big picture but I am learning that each step should be celebrated and is just as important as getting to the goal! Celebrate every step forward no matter how small; in your marriage, life, in all you do! 🤗❤🎉😜 #babysteps #loveandmarriage #love #begoodtoyourself #progress

EAT THE DAMN CAKE!!
It’s about soooo much more than the cake..
Yesterday, as I closed the chapter of an 8 year Emergency Nursing career (that was no longer serving me—letting go of the ideal), my coworkers surprised me with not only a sushi supper, but this beautiful cake!!!
Six months ago this would have crippled me with anxiety. The non planned sushi, and the cake itself, would have sent me into a spin of anxiety, fear, and restriction!
Instead, I enjoyed both! I was able to enjoy both without any guilt, without binging, and without subsequent restriction!
Seeking treatment, and working towards full recovery (one day I believe it will come!) is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life, but so worth it!

This weird question comes from a book I read when I was 12. The answer?
“One bite at a time.”
It’s been said in classier ways, sure, but the point stands.
Every little (or really big) thing we do happens one step at a time. In fact, you can only actually *do* one thing at a time (even when we tell ourselves we’re the masters of multitasking - we’re still just jumping from one thing to another thing really fast).
I don’t know what your goals are, but most of us have something big looming over our shoulders that seems impossible. I’ve been slowly overhauling my website this year - sometimes it feels like it’ll never be done. And now I’m putting together a program for stressed out bloggers - it’s so hard to see how this idea will actually grow into a full-fledged THING.
But... one step at a time. An hour here and an hour there. Eventually, you’ve eaten the whole buffalo.

People will ask you, what do you do to stay sober?
The simplest answer for me is, 'whatever it takes'
Although, that is far from simple, because whatever it takes is more like, whatever i can manage one day at a time.
Little by little; one day at a time. That's all you can do and all anyone can ask.
Woke up at 4:45am to head to the gym. Didn’t make it but went into my home office and was super productive! Polished my upcoming sermon, worked on a few projects, helped clean the house, dishes, folded laundry and had breakfast with the family as usual.
I went to the office, had a very productive day and headed home. I signed up for the gym two weeks ago and still haven’t gone. I made every excuses not to go today but at 4:06pm I walked in the door, got my badge, purchased a towel and went to work.
Sometimes the first trip in the door was the hardest. Hit the Arc trainer, back and bis and finished with a row. Not my hardest workout but getting there is 99% of my battle. Here’s to new beginnings and new habits.
