Work the core, hips & hamstrings. Press the feet into the ball and maintain neutral spine to work the lower abs. Laterally rotate the hips at the hip joint - not at the knee. The more you rotate and push the legs down into the ball the more it will fire 🔥. 🔥Back pain? Do you have back pain when picking things up off the ground? 💥Can you hip hinge properly? 🙌This exercise will expose where you may need some help✅ . Tag a friend who has a bad back👇🏼 . ⭐️Instructions 1.Place a dowel/stick along your spine so your head, upper back and hips touch, eyes looking down and forward about 10 feet in front of you . 2.Stand a few inches away from a wall to start, feet flat, under your hips toes facing forward . 3. Keeping all 3 contact points on the dowel, push your hips back to the wall with a very minimal knee bend (think of a door hinge opening and closing) . 4. Once you get this motion, walk your feet a little further to the point where you are just able to touch the wall with your hips, and have a soft knee bend . 5.Notice how hips & shoulders move at the same time . 6. Stand up through your heels squeezing your glutes to bring your hips forward to a neutral spine position . Or, lift your phone higher to eyes height using your arms; stop looking down at it.⠀ ➡Keep your abdominal muscles engaged and pelvis at a neutral aligment by avoiding tilting it forward too much or rounding the lower back excessively.⠀ ⠀ 💪🏻Throughout the day, perform a couple of "upper back squeezes"like what I show in the last part of the video. By contracting the muscles between your shoulder blades, you bring the shoulders back. Notice how the palms of my hands face my legs when I start and end facing forward when shoulders are back. That helps to open your chest. Do as many as it feels good to you! These muscles need to get stronger and have more endurance to help you keep your shoulders back with less effort. 👎 BACK PAIN SUCKS! 👎 . . I had my fair share of experiences, and I'm happy to report and knock on wood, I haven't had any episodes for a while. . . I deal with a lot of cases where clients experience lower back pain. The interesting thing is its never during our sessions but the moment to go out into the real world and decide to bend over and pick up their laptop bag off the floor and then find themselves on the floor in pain because their entire back went out... . . That actually happened to me, and that's how my back pain started in the first place. A stupid laptop bag... . . Here are a few exercises I give to my clients each and every week to combat their backs from flaring up and saying "HEY! F#!K YOU!" Anytime my back flares up I imagine my back having a voice that usually swears really loudly. LOL . . Everyone congratulate Kate on this accomplishment: her first #pilatesteaser ! After 6 months of consistent, dedicated Pilates sessions over Core to Coeur, Kate got her very first teaser yesterday. If you knew her history from last year- you'd know why we're highlighting her story for #motivationmonday . If you’ve tried a teaser, you know this is a big deal! After her right leg nearly atrophied, she put her health first by commiting to regular #privatepilates on Core to Coeur and rarely missed a session. Her consistent practice and newfound passion for movement led her to be able to do this incredibly tough exercise. She's now walking her dog without fear of falling (often 2x a day) practicing squats on her own, and using relaxation time to roll out on her #pinkyball . We are so proud of her and can't wait to see what move she tackles next. #balancecontrol on the reformer? Who knows!

3 TOP TIPS FOR PROLONGED STANDING DURING FIREWORKS DISPLAYS. . 1. Fidget. Moving your body weight will help keep those muscles active. Don’t find a spot to stand in & stay there all evening. . 2. Check your shoes. Make sure they’re comfortable and supportive. Support comes from the ground up if your out for a while opt for comfort over style. . 3. Stand well, but not like your in the army, unless you are already! Too much tension is often placed on your diaphragm destabilising the core muscles & making standing a more intense activity. Instead stand naturally, take a breath in and blow out feeling your lower ribs drop down your coccyx angle toward the floor. Maintaining this position to help stay comfortable for longer periods of standing. STAY SAFE & HAVE FUN.

Preventing back pain and injury Self care. Using correct posture and keeping your spine in alignment are the most important things you can do for your back. The lower back (lumbar curve) bears most of your weight, so proper alignment of this section can prevent injury to your vertebrae, discs, and other portions of your spine. If you have back pain, you may need to make adjustments to your daily standing, sitting, and sleeping habits and learn proper ways to lift and bend (see Self Care for Neck & Back Pain). Your workspace may need to be rearranged to keep your spine from slouching. Because extra pounds can make back pain worse, you should maintain a weight that is appropriate for your height and body frame.
