Debbie Dishes With....Diana @thebakingupyum
One reason I enjoy being on social media is the ability to make connections that I otherwise would not have made. Diana, is the first Foodie Friday guest I am interviewing who has also judged @worldfoodchampionships
like myself (I have judged at 3 different WFC's and Diana has judged the last 2 years). Looking forward to the day I can meet up with her on the judging trail, but until then here is some insights about Diana... TASTE EXPLORERS: Favorite flavor of cake?
DIANA: Dark chocolate cake with a dark chocolate/ @Nutella
frosting. It is magical!
TE: Dessert cookbook you recommend?
D: The Sweetapolita Bakebook! It's so beautiful and full of color and sprinkles, plus everything I have made from her book is just plain delicious! Plus follow her on Instagram @sweetapolita
as she has some of the most beautiful cakes and goodies to swoon over!
TE: You have judged at World Food Championships...what was your favorite category to judge?
D: World Recipe category as it showcases an array of foods versus the same thing in different styles. It's always a surprise!
TE: What category to you wish to judge next time?
TE: Do you have the desire to compete at WFC for desserts?
D: I would love to, but the thought of having cameras and people over my shoulder makes me so nervous.
TE: Advice to anyone wanting to judge at World Food Championships?
D: Sign up early in the year, and when you get chosen, go and enjoy yourself. Be honest in your judging and make sure not to eat before you judge :) TE: If people want to order a cake from you they need to be in what area?
D: The Huntsville, AL area.
Check back in few days to see part 2 of my interview with Diana.
