The charm of Ulun Danu Bratan
The wonderful temple of Ulun Danu Bratan stands on a small peninsula on the shore of Lake Bratan. The lake plays a fundamental role in the irrigation of this area and the southern part of the island; that's why the temple is dedicated to the water goddess Dewi Danu. The temple, whose construction dates back to 1633, consists of a complex of buildings on several islands. Half-Hindu and half-Buddhist, the main temple, Pura Teratai Bang, has a distinctive 7-level tower, and on the island there is also a temple with 11 roofs. Looking carefully at the construction of Ulun Danu Bratan, it seems that the building floats on water.
