Let's talk Transitions! How we transition through asanas on our mat is often a good indication of how we transition through life. Ashtanga was my first practice, so I used to practice with an extreme linear mindset (which has helped me to practice safely and with correct alignment)
Lately, I have allowed more circular fluid movement into my practice thanks to @meghancurrieyoga @carlostaomovement
and the @budkonuniversity
Teachers Training I did at the start of this year. My understanding and specifically the embodiment of these moves to the spine have completely changed my practice
Ever wondered why the first movements in an intelligently designed yoga practice are usually a warm-up of the spine? This is because when you warm up and wake up the axis of your being, you warm and wake up the entire body!
Undulating the spine in wave like movements encourages more flow, fluidity, and juicy movement. This is so great for enhancing strength, flexibility, mobility and stability in the spine. I invite you to pay attention to your spine, and use it as guide for the rest of your practice 👚:@lornajanesa
Happy Friday beautiful yogis 💜
The mind is like water. When it’s turbulent, it’s difficult to see. When it’s calm, everything becomes clear ~ Prasad Mahes
May your mind be clear during the weekend, so you can recharge, reconnect with your true self and connect with friends and loved ones on a deep, truthful, loving way.

When we self-observe and connect with our inner truth, we become aware of samskaras
The word samskara comes from the Sanskrit sam (complete or joined together) and kara (action, cause, or doing). Samskaras make up our conditioning or simpler said; our habits. They can be positive and negative. The negative samskaras are what hinder our positive evolution
Without changing our negative habits, we keep circling around at the same level and in the long term, this can have a downward spiralling effect on our lives. Changing them can help you uplift yourself to a more fulfilled life and have an upwards springing effect.
We have habits on and off our mats.
Some people are super flexible and benefit from working on their strength, some are strong and benefit from working on softening and letting go,
And some are perfectionists and benefit from a bit more self-compassion and lastly some tend to be lazy and benefit from more self-discipline etc etc.
Changing habits takes a lot of conscious effort but it will be so worth it once you have cultivated a new positive samskara!
Have you noticed that the habits you have on your mat very often reflect your habits off your mat?
What habits would you like to change?

Why is it so vital to our soul’s growth that we find time to connect to Self?
Don’t you agree that our entire experience here on this planet is one of constant growth and learning? The hardest bit of this process is probably the unlearning of limiting beliefs and false narratives we tell ourselves based on past experiences. It will be a task of a lifetime to desire, explore, do, learn, reflect and repeat this process again and again
To truly grow as human-beings it is important to consciously connect with the essence of who we are, why we do the things we do and think the things we think
Each experience from the extraordinary to the mundane, moulds and shapes our lives. Checking in and connecting with our inner TRUTH will help us align the direction of our life so it keeps feeding our soul
Make friends with yourself, take yourself on dates, practice yoga alone in nature – do what you need to do to feel connected to your own internal power!
“Silence is essential. We need silence, just as much as we need air, just as much as plants need light. If our minds are crowded with words and thoughts, no space for us.” - Thich Naht Hanh
Each day is a new chance to be YOU...✨☀️✨

Be strong, be fearless, be beautiful!
And believe that anything is possible when you have the right people there to support you. 💓
To embody wellness is to take our practice off the mat—the ultimate rebellion is apply the principles of mindfulness in our everyday lives.
Practice of yoga can hold the key to rediscovering our personal freedoms. In time, the practice helps hone the liberties of our everyday lives. We loosen our grip as we realize that we can’t control everything.
Throughout this journey the ways we react to challenges and handle situations begins to change, as old parts of ourselves that no longer serve us begin to fall away. It's a celebration of the freedom we experience in our minds, bodies, hearts and souls. Our perceptions expand as we acknowledge that we are all connected to something greater — to the great cosmic whole.
The deeper we dive into this practice, the more we question what we know about ourselves and our life’s purpose. To be a yogi means to go against the status quo of what we think we should look like, or should do with our lives.
We rebel against the norm — against what our families may have expected us to do with ourselves and our careers. Our yoga gives us the ability to stay true to our own path; to march to the beat of our own drum as we pursue our most cherished dreams. Yogis don’t just join a rebellion… they lead it.

😱You’d be surprised to know...😱
I haven’t properly worked out in about 3 months until 4 days ago💪🏼
But I feel stronger now than ever. I attribute that to the well-deserved break my body craved, and moving mindfully in other ways💃🏼🤸🏼♂️🧘♀️🏄🏼♀️
Do you find yourself forcing yourself to workout and instead of enjoying it, it turns into a form of punishment for yourself?😖🤔😳
Looking back on my life now, I was in that punishment phase for awhile, and I’ve only now come to that realisation. Let’s treat our bodies with the love and respect it deserves, moving mindfully and freely...however you choose...running, lifting weights, yoga, Pilates, surfing, boxing, dancing, etc...there’s no one size fits all.
How will you move today?💪🏼

I have never been on a yoga retreat, but trying different studious classes and mainly new yoga teachers from all around the world gave me a similar experience.
I love yoga and practising at this all-bamboo tree house, which is the Bali’s only ocean front yoga studio, takes it to another level.
