Happy Sunday evening all! This growing boy’s name is Edgar. His morph type is a lesser/sugar. The meaning of the name Edgar is fortunate one, which fits him perfectly. He is now a healthy snake, but when I first got him he was basically on death’s door. He hadn’t eaten in over a month (for a hatchling that isn’t normal or good) and was visibly dehydrated. the first time I held him, he was freezing cold and barely moving. I found Edgar at a large corporate pet store, and unfortunately the store had no clue nor interest on how to properly care for their ball pythons. Within 12 hours of being home with me, he ate his first meal, and hasn’t missed a meal since. I didn’t name him for the first week, because I honestly thought he might die. But Edgar is one tough noodle and is now close to 400 grams. The snake that was cohabited (you should never ever cohabit ball pythons) with Edgar at the store passed away, my heart broke to hear this, but I’m truly happy I was able to give my little guy a shot at life. 💚🐍💚
I’m so happy to share little Edgar’s story with you all! Of the three of my snakes, he definitely had the hardest start in life. Comically, he is my feistiest snake and always lets me know when he is getting hungry. I’m hoping my posts on my three noodles is helping some of you overcome your fear of snakes and take an interest in them. They truly are wonderful animals.
