What the hell is this ????? Why should you support your local barber and what are the things we need to consider?
In recent years, South Africa has seen the contamination of many cheap, foreign barber shops and barbers like you see in this video. Yes their prices are very low and so is their quality of work, hygiene, and standards. They don't recognise clients as human beings but as wallets on a conveyer belt. These barbers are not properly trained and all of their haircuts look the same. Their work is nothing tailor made and creative to suit the individual man. A few rubs and slaps on the head is disguised with the exotic term 'Indian Head Massage' to fool the people into believing that the barbers know what they are doing when they don't.
Some clients are actually boastful about the fact that they paid R30 for a haircut and a head massage at a cheap foreign barber.
This is something that one should actually be ashamed of and try to hide it if they did it.
By supporting your local craft barber, you will pay a bit more but you are guaranteed to.. 1.Support and empower local businesses and barbers.
2.Help circulate and strengthen the economy.
3.Uplift the standards of barbering in your country.
4.Make barbers happy and proud of who they are so they treat you the client with respect, honour and dignity that you deserve.
5. It will show that you have a great deal of respect for yourself.
