This trip meant everything to me. It has been a long time since I felt that feeling of home. Growing up and spending time with my family and traveling back to WV was the best thing ever. As everyone got older, people started to pass on or start their own families. That feeling for me dwindled. I am forever grateful for the small family I do have and cherish every single one of them but going to Maine gave me that childhood feeling again. Being surrounded by friends and family with such open arms really touched me. Perfect strangers welcomed Corey and I with open arms and no questions asked, they made us feel apart of the family. This trip was full of family game nights and surprise parties and baby showers. But to me, it was more then that. It was about family and learning what truly is important in life. Everything I worried or stressed over is trivial. This is what matters. Maine, you forced me to take a different look at life but made me grow in such a powerful way. I am forever grateful to everyone I met and got to spend time with. I had such an amazing time and the best part is I got to experience it all with my best friends and my fiancé. I wouldn’t change that for one second. So thank you to everyone who welcomed us and took such amazing care of us and thank you for making me grow up in a way I never realized. You gave me my home back 💜

Why is fitness important to me? Because it gives me the strength and endurance to climb those mountains and capture memories like this gem⛰ .
Adventures are The Chief & my thing. We love taking off for a weekend to soak up the sun kayaking, go geocaching on a hiking trail in a part of Maine we’ve never been to, and also check out the fun foodie places 🍻
So even when it’s cold and extra winter-y outside, I still make my fitness a priority because I want to be ready for the adventures that are coming in the months ahead!
Want to start gearing up for summer adventures with me?? I’m pressing play on a new at-home fitness program on Monday and I’d love to have you do it with me! Drop a summer-inspired emoji below and I’ll send you the details! ☀️ 🚣♀️ 🏕

A little throwback to the Acadia trip - Otter Creek fish house
Holy - cannoli.
I remember wanting more pictures taken of me towards the end of my trip to New England with my parents because I had decided in the middle of the trip that I needed to change my life for good. Of course this new life wouldn’t begin until after vacation so I remained carefree and happy through the rest of It knowing that when I got back home, shit was gonna get real. I’m so happy I took the extra pictures and kept the special clothes that still give me joy even though they’re too big now - they help remind me of how far I’ve come! (Plus, now they’re just extra extra comfy) #BarHarbor #WeightlossJourney #TransformationThursday
Hanging around by the lake
One of my first sunrises in the Bar Harbor area, about 40 trips around the sun ago.
A sunset sandwiched between dark clouds above and dark earth below.
Surf's up! Another shot from Otter Point.
Surf on Otter Point. Sometimes it's nice to include people in the photograph for perspective!
One of the joys of Acadia in October is seeing Thunder Hole without crowds of people there!
A reminder that sometimes you need to be still and just reflect on things.
Thinking back to spending all afternoon in the sun in this spot and the beauty of it all.
Loved the juxtaposition in this shot.
Another memory from 20 years ago. Timeless beauty.
A placid summer scene along the road to Bass Harbor.
One last view from the summit of Champlain Mountain.
By the time we reached the summit of Champlain, the fog surrounding the Porcupine Islands had burned off.
I joined my son and his family for a hike up Champlain Mountain and was treated to some great views along the way!
Another shot from a summer sunset in Acadia National Park!
A trip to Acadia does not feel complete without at least one sunset on Cadillac Mountain!
The beauty of a sunset lingers even well after the sun dips below the horizon.
The sky was wild with colors and clouds during a sunset over Clark Cove.
A beautiful day at the "beach" in Acadia (Little Hunters Beach).
Pastel colors infused the sunset on the first night of our annual Summer visit to Bar Harbor.
It's always a welcome sight whenever local kayak tours paddle in to Clark Cove at the end of the day.
What a sunset sail lacks in wind, it makes up in beauty.
The size of the cruise ships relative to the Porcupine Islands always amazes me.
Sails on the Margaret Todd bring back pleasant summer memories.
Looking forward to our annual summer trip to Bar Harbor and the spectacular sunsets on Clark Cove.
