Weighted Mobility drills that make the hips feel muy bueno 💪🏼 - My practice has been shifting into doing a ton of mobility drills for my mid day practice and I end my day with strength training. Mobility has been the most practical and effective training out of the many other disciplines I have trained in. Not only do I feel strong and more flexible but it also helps prevent injury.

Alright so I’ll get on the #TransformationTuesday hype bus 😂 ✖️ Only 7 years in the making 🤦🏻‍♂️ On the left is me at 15... I never really changed much, if anything I just gained some fat and at 19 I was naturally broader of course but I didn’t have a chest, I didn’t have abs and I couldn’t lift my own bodyweight. Over the last three years I really wanted to be a better version of myself and so I started weight training and then moved on to calisthenics. Being able to take part in a charity event for @worldpullupday felt amazing because I never used to be able to do 4 pull ups... now I can do sets, weighted, different variations... it blows my mind what the human body can achieve if only your mind is in the right place. And that’s why I’m writing this, because I want you to understand that if you have just bought a new workout programme and are meal prepping and all the rest of the cookie cutter stuff we all post here on Instagram and you aren’t seeing the progress you want to see - it’s not the end of the world. It takes time, discipline, and maximum effort. 🧠Brain GAINZZ🧠 ➖ Chemical reactions are taking place in our bodies every living second! Let’s talk ‘Endocrine’ changes! Our bodies are basically a cluster of hormones/chemicals! Some people seem to let their hormones get the best of them pretty often but that's a totally different topic. ➖ 🔶Hormones! What are they? They are molecules which are created within the endocrine glands. ➖ 🔶2 main types of hormones are protein hormones and steroid hormones. You're probably familiar with growth hormones and insulin, those are protein hormones. You hear the word steroids and no one really looks past the guy with muscles on his muscles in the locker room. Testosterone and estrogen are steroid hormones. ➖ 🔶Effects of certain hormones can either make you or break you. Anabolic hormones like testosterone and insulin will likely be responsible for growth of muscle, in contrast catabolic hormones like cortisol are responsible for degradation of muscle but that's not necessarily bad. In the right amount it contributes to homeostasis. ➖ 🔴Have you ever felt like puking your guts out after an intensive routine? HORMONES! Hormone concentration is greatly influenced by acute exercise. Embrace the puke! ➖ Epinephrine is one of the hormones which increases and as a result increases fat and carbohydrate oxidation which ultimately supplies your body with more ATP when the muscles contract. ➖ 🔶Just keep in mind the more often you participate in resistance training, the chronic adaptations for your endocrine system allows your body to work more efficiently. All these chemical reactions taking place in your body become optimized for top performance. You want to increase muscle mass and over all cell function? Ensure your hormonal profile is in check and don't let up with that training!
