Episode 30: “WD-40”
For this episode of Bar Theory, we pack up for a little road trip to Arcata, Ca to hang out with Amy & Steve Bohner of @alchemydistillery
met the happy couple two years ago while @griffodistillery
and instantly connected with Amy & Steve. So when the opportunity presented itself to head north and podcast with them, we jumped all over it. For these two are truly amazing humans and there was no doubt this was gonna be a good time.
We were showered with hospitality and warmth (and beverages) instantly upon arrival to their tasting room/distillery. Which if ever in Arcata, you need to check out. So well designed and charming. Oh and all came along from funding through a @kickstarter
This was our first true foursome podcast, which quickly turned into a fivesome because there was so much to discuss, questions to ask, and information to trade that we had to get Diana ( @dmart86
who ventured up with us) on the mic too.
We jump right in and find out how these two love birds meet, and how Steve dressing up as Santa sealed the deal. Going on about Steve’s hardships which led to him developing Alchemy Construction, to how they got started with @alchemydistillery
We talk about their journey to learn the art of Distilling as they travel around the states, visiting @vendomecopper
(where Steve knew for sure, this was what he wanted to do.)
We finally dive into tasting their spirits, which compose of Clear Whiskey, Genever...and their Cereal Killers lineup made up of a Wheat Whiskey, A Rye Whiskey, and a Triticale Whiskey.
They go on about how important and supportive their community has been, and how they work with many different farmers and businesses to keep it as sustainable as possible.
These two are so adorable, and not only have made love for each other, but mad love for what they do...and it truly shows in their spirits.
We hope this episode really makes you fall in love with Amy & Steve the way we did. #cheers
