⭐️HBA CHAMPIONSHIP LEAGUE RESULT AND MARLBOROUGH ESTATE AGENTS MVP AWARD⭐️
On Thursday night our Hull Stingers Championship team came up against Hull Hornets West.
The first quarter started off slow for Stingers, allowing Hornets to control the pace of the game. Stingers took an early timeout to make changes, after Stingers picked up the pace, moved the ball better and defended harder. Helping Stingers to end the quarter in the lead at 17-13.
The second quarter saw Stingers make it difficult for Hornets to move the ball around and forced mistakes and to take difficult shots. James Kiel scored 6 points in the quarter taking him to 10 points in the first half. Stingers held onto the lead into the half time break at 34-26.
After the break it was important for Stingers to maintain the intensity. Stingers had a slightly slower start to the second half than expected but raised their efforts on defence. After a couple of early changes Stingers went on a run of 18-1. Captain Tom Radford scores 8 points and fellow post player Ben Ashbridge scores 6 points in the quarter. Helping Stingers stretch the lead to 54-29.
The fourth quarter started credit has to be given to Hornets as they continued to show defiance and battled the full game, forcing Stingers to work hard. The fourth quarter went back and forth but Stingers held onto the lead and took the victory at 68-41. Helping Stingers to move to 3-0 in the season.
The Marlborough estate agents MVP award goes to Sam Dewsbury who may have only scored 6 points in the game, but he helped to control the game and increase the pace of the Stingers offence. Which was invaluable as he made multiple opportunities for players and guided them into the correct spot for the benefit of the team.
Stingers top scorers were:
Tom Radford 12pts
Ben Ashbridge 10pts
Tyler Watson 10pts
James Kiel 10pts

I got a lot of questions last night about having that scorers mentality even when shots aren't falling. If you're watching Kyrie Irving miss his first six shots what are you saying on your couch?? "He'll get going." Why don't give yourself that same benefit? It's because you don't see yourself at that level yet. That comes from visualization. See and feel yourself playing with NBA players and making plays, and then hi-giving chuck at the scorers table and getting your name called to go in. Feel it. Believe it. Then when you shoot. Shoot with rules that you can't leave until you make like 6-10 in a row. And hold yourself to it. Then when you play you KNOW, that's it's going to start falling. Because you couldn't fucking eat the night before until it did.
