Got my A$$ handed to me in the gym today,told myself I wasn’t gonna go for a PR but I hate not participating and you know if I tried it was gonna be chest.I use to do heavy dumbbell press all the time now not so much.The most I’ve ever did was 80s like twice.So warmed up with the 50s,then a couple reps with 75s then tried the 95s,85s and couldn’t even get up the 80s should have took a breather but was frustrated but the is no failure in trying and sure as hell was walking out of the gym without a PR so the most I have ever did on the chest press machine was 180 but today got 200 and am not counting the 230 because just raised it didn’t do a rep. Maybe with some practice I can get to the point of this weight moving without sacrificing form. ⏺️ I know this video doesn't show it, but I got really emotional (actually angry) about not being able to lift the weight. I was about to give up, but made the decision to not let failure be an option. It took four tries and was incredibly ugly, but I made it happen. ⏺️ Had a realization when I seen my little self-celebration 🎉 at the end of the video. That realization is that it's kinda cool having instagram to share the moment with. Most sports are spectator events. With weight lifting, it's just you and the weight. There is no parents or friends in the bleachers to cheer us on. We just do it. Then we go home, and repeat the next day. That being said, any of you that actually watch the vids, read the message, and hopefully click like or comment, I truly do appreciate any support! Its about that time of the year er'body has begun to "bulk" or is about to do so. The biggest reason for bulking is to put on mass and shed unwanted bf acquired during the bulk while in the upcoming cut. . Theres generally two types of bulk when you get down to it....dirty or clean. Dirty obviously meaning you eat everything in fuckng sight and clean meaning you up your calories but are still in control and consuming mostly clean foods. . Tuesday soooo once again, it's back to Leg for me! My knee continues to feel great, I will continue with my same pace because working!! . For Squats, I'll be sticking with the warm up but a slight change this week. I'll warm up with 225 x 10 & 315 x 5 before going into my working sets. Last week I increased weight by 10 lbs to 345, which is 30 lbs off my 1R max. I'll be keeping any increases to 10 lbs at a time going forward. Hey fit family! Happy #transformationtuesday It is amazing what you can do when you set yourself up and prep for success. I went from a size 20 to a size 8 between these 2 pictures. Here is Step 2 to prepping for a competition: Know Your Numbers! Prepping for a competition: It is important when dieting to know our numbers, but even more important when we have a competition we are working exponentially hard for. Not only should we be tracking our nutrition, such as calories and macros, but also our training, reps,weights etc. In order to progress and get better results we have to monitor and be consistent with our tracking. We cannot expect to lose weight or gain muscle if we are not tracking appropriately. We have to make sure we are measuring our bodyweight (Since our body weight seems to fluctuate I like to take a weekly average). Our training performance (are we feeling sluggish, or full of intensity) Our nutrition (calories, and macros) These all need to be measured in a consistent manner.When it comes to the weight room it is important to monitor our weights, reps and sets — without this we don’t know if we’re doing better or worse. This year has been the best by far, I have been able to build like never before. It has been a year which will be the foundation for the rest of my life. Last night was Back and Shoulders for me. I decided to take a shot and see if I could beat my PR on Rack Pulls. . I did!! I managed to hit a new PR @495 last night and got it 5 reps out of it! 💪 . I wasn't using any supplements that I don't normally use for the day. I had a pre workout (Vapor) from @muscletech , some extra Citruline from @kagedmusclesupps and an intra drink (Aminofast) from @bluestarnutraceuticals . Last week I posted my #Transformation story, this photo came up on my timeline three days after that post! • While my transformation might have been two years ago, you never stop growing, physically and mentally. Life is always changing, no matter what you try to do you cannot slow this process down. • So embrace it, grow from it, learn from it, use your time wisely. Remember to always invest in yourself! Challenge yourself! Learn something new! 2016----2018 Weight Loss isn't an over the night type of process. It takes months of constant effort. It also takes days where you screw up and overindulge. I always thought if I just went to the gym and just ate okay most of the time but then snacked on cookies and pizza on the weekend, it wouldn't affect me. But honestly if you want results, you're not gonna get it that way. Yes I lost some weight but I hit a plateau eventually. After hitting my plateau I started eating clean. I would strictly eat protein like chicken, beef or turkey and add carbs obvi cause we all need them! By adding rice or potatoes then a side of veggies. Small changes like this to your diet can make a HUGE impact on your body. After a while my body started to crave these foods, and guess what I did when I wanted that pizza? You got it dude 👍🏻. I ate that ishh up!! It is okay to give in to what your body is craving, just don't do it 6/7 days out of the week! Focus on your why and use that motivation to crush your goals ladies and gentleman.. So many people always seem to be very confused when going on a diet and not seeing the results they are expecting. When they talk to you, you can ask them why they think they're not achieving their goal and they'll tell you... "I don't know why" 🤔 . Let's make this real simple by being honest. Theres is always a reason why people are not losing weight or fat and deep down everyone knows the reason or reasons. 🤨 . I'd strongly bet that one of those reasons is listed in this picture! 😉 I've said it quite a few times before, the most likely reason someone is not losing fat or weight is the fact they are not in a calorie deficit. The second most likely reason is a lack of consistency in either diet and training or both. . I can pretty much guarantee you (like death & taxes) if just those two things are done, being consistent and being in a calorie deficit...YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT & FAT!! 😳 .
