Be a flamingo in a flock of pigeons!
At university, a friend of mine flipped through some pictures and said: “All the people make a uniform picture, but there is always you who stands out with your colours. Like a flamingo.” It was not meant in a nice way and I started to doubt myself if I should blend in more. At work, I started to wear black and grey suits which I hated. But even for leisure my style became more business. However, I always felt like in a uniform. I hated it.
At an assessment centre I decided to wear something which represented me: a turquoise skirt. And I was the only one in a sea of grey and black suits. But I overheard someone say they remember me because of that bright skirt which represented my personality.
From then on, I wore@what
I wanted. Still respecting my workplace and colleagues, of course. But I always brightened up the day with some colours and unique dresses, skirts or tops. Just because we are successful women, we don’t have to dress like men. We can dress functional and yet be stylish and beautiful. We can be flamingos in a flock of pigeons and show everyone who rules the world in style!
I wish you all a colourful weekend! 💕💕💕
