We are all aware of the current issue on #beans
sprayed with #sniper
I have read a lot of comments on every social media, people condemning those who practice such.
Yes, as #Nigerians
, we are quick at blaming and condemning others. I will like to bring another angle to this story. Please, don't get me wrong, I don't support such either.
As the year is going to an end, How many farmers that are not in your circle have you educated,#trained
, this year? We keep blaming them for the practices they do, but we fail to get to them and educate them. We fail to educate traders we buy from at the market.
When last did we sensitise the market men and women we buy from on some simple food handling and safety? We always think ,it is not my responsibility.
This whole issue made me to include more farmers that are not organic in my workshop plan for next year.
I am not preaching to them to grow organic, first they need to use Good Agriculture Practices #gap
, once they are at this point, it easier to introduce organic to them. I am going to educate some of the women I buy some foodstuffs from
Spend time once in a while with those whom you buy your foodstuffs from , chat with them to understand their processes, and educate them accordingly. You might be saving more than yourself.
