back at home and back to making groovy bowls. every time i got out of town my first instinct when i get back is to make a big salad full of raw and cooked foods that will help ground me and reboot my digestive system. idk about you, but when i drive a ton i get super bloated. this should do the trick tho! bed of spinach and arugula tossed in lemon juice and olive oil, roasted beets, sweet potatoes, shaved carrots, cucumbers, watermelon radish, microgreens, avocado, and almonds and sesame seeds for some good crunch! packing this for my dinner at work tonight. hope you’re all having yourselves a good weekend so far! #andapinchoflove
Just spent about all day in the kitchen prepping some food for next week, so this nutrient dense meal was reallllly needed 🙌🏼 I’m going to try and post more veggie inspired meals on here for you guys, because I’ve tried some super yummy combos recently that you just have to try 😋 I hope you’ve have had a great day 💕 #hannahharvestinghealth ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Dinner dEATs: Bed of butter lettuce, @eatbanza chickpea pasta with my Tomato Coconut Cream sauce {1 cup organic tomato sauce + Juice of half a lemon + Salt & black pepper + 1/4 tsp garlic powder + 1/2 tsp oregano + 1/2 cup @traderjoes organic coconut cream (stir the whole can then measure out 1/2 cup) + 1/4 tsp paprika! Just put all ingredients in a sauce pan and stir while it heats up, then pour over pasta}, snap peas, bell pepper, radishes, and yellow squash! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭16:5 “Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. I pulled my upper hamstring on April 12th during a routine taper workout. I went on to run a PR in the half a week and half later and a PR in a 25k mid May with it still bothering me. The cost of racing on this injury was no running from mid May till August. Yes that’s three months for a silly proximal hamstring strain that was never really that painful. It’s been a long road with allot of biking and physical therapy and I’ve learned allot about myself and my why in my time away from the sport. I’m thankful to report that this week I have started to see the pain start to dissipate and I am now consistently walk-running! Sometimes in life you have to take risks, but you also have to answer the bell for the risks you take. There’s no free passes. Running on that injury gave me the PR needed to join @asics_gtc_elite but it also took me out for three months. Life is hard, but the sometimes rocky road takes you to places you never thought existed. To all my injured runners out there I’m here for you! Show up everyday and fight on!

Anyone else feeling a bit out of balance? I blame the extreme heat of summer along with my often deranged Vata and some poor food choices for fanning the flames for my over the top pitta🤪. {are you feeling me? Or are you more like 🤷🏼‍♀️?} . . Ayurveda is the sister science of yoga & the oldest system of medicine still practiced in the world today and actually where Chinese medicine got its roots from. Ayurveda teaches us that we are an extension of nature & nature is an extension of us, and works to heal the body through diet, herbs & lifestyle practices. It’s the underlying current in my personal practice and where i fundamentally come from when making dietary suggestions and recommendations to my clients. . . I’ve been working with the basic elements of Ayurveda for close to a decade now, have studied with a teacher who learned directly from Vasant Lad himself, but recently I’ve been called to deepen my understanding of this incredible ancient wisdom and medicinal system. Call it my ever curious Vata or my passionate Pitta but today i made an investment for a 300 hour study w/ Dr David Frawley. . . As i further my education I’ll continue to share and offer best practices, but for now i leave you with these 3 simple tips {the same 3 I’m reintroducing as well} to help ground you, offer you a self-care ritual & bring you back to a feeling of balance & energy. . . 1️⃣ start and/or end each day w/ a 5 minute meditation OR a visualization practice & journaling routine. At the end of each day make a list of your most important to-dos so you know WHAT to tackle before the day overwhelms you AND add in there ONE THING you promise to do for yourself. Treat that as one of your top priorities. . 2️⃣ practice daily dry skin brushing & self oil massage {use coconut oil to cool your pitta or sesame oil if you’re very Vata & tend to be cold & dry even in the summer months} . 3️⃣ enjoy more seasonal & COOLING foods {especially important for those feeling agitated lately}. Examples are cucumber, cilantro, yogurt/sour cream, & aloe. Buy fresh aloe {use inner gel}, coconut & cilantro to blend into your smoothies & avoid spicy foods which induce heat and agitation.

I think I try and make things harder on myself. It’s almost a way of proving that I’m capable of more than I thought. . With this mindset, comes a lot of mindset challenges. If I don’t meet a goal on time or stay 100% focused, I feel I’ve ruined all of my progress. . In school, the job search, sports, hobbies, I’ve always felt it had to be MORE than just something I enjoyed. . Now, as I’ve taken on learning to be a mentor and a coach, I think I’m afraid to go all in if I’m not being perfect, and being the very ‘best.’ . Today, it’s about taking the victories with the set backs. Working my butt off to feel healthy, happy and taking care of myself. About a great workout and a beer. About hard work and having fun. . It’s about finding what you love, letting go of what doesn’t and that it’s not about being the best amongst others, but of myself. . Yesterday I sent out a newsletter to my list all about why motivation & willpower won’t work, even though you’ve been sold on the fact that they do. . I can’t tell you how much energy I’ve lost thinking about when, where, how, how much, and if I should do things....instead of just DOING them. . Motivation & willpower are limited - we can’t rely on them. People ask all the time how I’m so motivated and the truth is I’m not. I struggle a lot of the time. . I let myself feel it but I don’t stay there too long. I just act. The next tiniest step, over and over. I didn’t used to be this way. I used to torment myself going back & forth, mad at myself, disappointed & frustrated...emotions that could have been spared had I just DONE THE THING. . We’re all scared. Hardly anyone knows what they’re doing. But what separates those who live fulfilling & purposeful lives is the fact that they know the only true thing that dissipates anxiety & mental noise is action. . You only need to take one small step in the right direction, then another after that, then another. . Light your own fire, I promise it’s been there all along. 🔥💕

Ingredients 6 Yukon Gold Potatos 1 Tbspn Olive Oil 1 tspn Garlic Powder 1 tspn Onion Powder 1 tspn Chili Powder 1/2 tspn Salt 1/2 Pepper . . Directions 1. Preheat oven to 400º 2. Cut potato into wedges, simply cut the potato in half three times and you'll get 8 wedges from each potato 3. Soak potato wedges in hot water for ten minutes. While you soak, mix together the seasoning for easy sprinkling. 4. Pat Dry Potato wedges, slather on the olive oil, and season with premixture. 5. Bake for 30 minutes, flip, and then bake for another 25-30 minutes. The wedges on the edge might cook a little faster. 6. spending the weekend in Virginia Beach with some of my best friends from college who I haven’t seen since graduation over 2 years ago😧 leaving college was tough for me because NYC was the closest any of my friends lived from me post-grad and that was still a 2.5 hour drive. Going from living together and laughing 24/7 with your girl gang to barely ever seeing each other and switching to adult mode is not fun, but dang it’s a good feeling when you hangout for the first time in years and it feels like nothing has changed.

You guys know I am new to the yogurt bowl game and I am stepping up my game by adding in a @soozysmuffins sweet potato muffin! These muffins are so amazing I can’t even describe how good they are! how do you like your oats? runny or thick? 😊 i like mine suuuper runny which i’m realizing doesn’t look the best on camera 😂 this morning I tried something new and put a huge dollop of coconut yogurt on my oats and it was the greatest decision 🤤 also topped with bananas, blueberries, strawberries, chopped up dates, and cinnamon 🍌
Happy Saturday all! 🤸🏻‍♀️✨ Sharing with you today this bowl loaded with grilled and fresh veggies, quinoa cooked with carrots 🥕 and zucchini, and everything paired with spicy yogurt sauce 😋 Hope you’re having an amazing day!! ⠀ Deets: For the grilled veggies: Sprinkle the vegetables with salt and pepper. Grill them until tender and lightly charred all over, about 8 to 10 minutes.⠀ For the Quinoa with veggies: 7 oz. quinoa, 2+1/4 water, 2 medium chopped carrots, 1 small chopped zucchini, salt and black pepper. Place the quinoa and water in a pan. Simmer for 15 minutes or until the water has been absorbed. Stir fry the chopped carrots and zucchini and season with salt and pepper. Once those are cooked combine with the quinoa. ⠀ For the yogurt sauce: 1 cup vegan yogurt, 2 tbsp olive oil, a splash of lemon juice, 1 tsp chopped fresh parsley, salt and chili powder to taste. Give me ALL THE PEACHES! 🍑⠀ There are three things I could eat at every meal during the summer: 🍑 🍅 🍉⠀ Since we're heading into the last month of summer I have been trying to eat all the summer things while I can. ⠀ These omega-3-packed Peaches and Cream Oats really hit the spot this morning. With a dose of omega-3 fatty acids thanks to the addition of flaxseeds and walnuts, plus protein-packed Greek yogurt an fiber-rich oats, this breakfast was just the fuel I needed for a fun-filled Saturday. Details below 👇⠀ ⠀ Cook 1/2 cup rolled oats with 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup water in the microwave on high powder for 1 1/2 minutes. Stir in 1/4 cup vanilla Greek yogurt and 1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds, and microwave 30 seconds longer. Stir in chopped peaches, and top with sliced peaches and chopped walnuts. Enjoy!⠀

This creative smoothie by @copinaco is what we're loving right now.⠀ .⠀ The details: 👇⠀ 1 cup frozen cauliflower⠀ 1 medjool date⠀ 1 tbsp almond butter⠀ 1/2 tsp @e3live blue Magic⠀ ⠀ 1 tsp @sunpotion tocos⠀ a dash of @mountainroseherbs vanilla powder ⠀ 2 tablespoons @kitehillfoods unsweetened almond yogurt⠀ 2/3 cup water or unsweetened almond milk⠀ .⠀ To create the polka dot effect, get goldenberries from @wholefoods ,slice them in half, and set aside. Slowly add the smoothie to your cup, then work the berry halves down the side of the glass. saturday morning was just screaming for some sweet p toast and coffee ☕️ one with df chive cream cheese and avo another with whole milk yogurt, cherries and blueberries the last with @artisanaorganics raw almond butter, figs, and chocolate chia seeds how i make my sweet potato toast: slice about 1/4” thick slices (trying to avoid injury) spray with avocado oil sprinkle with sea salt cook at 400° for 45ish minutes, flipping halfway through happy weekend! 😘

DEEP DISH COOKIE SQUARES ✨ I got what you need right here. Let’s start the weekend off right with these fluffy, moist and insanely good magical cookie squares. Dare I call it a cookie cake? Here’s how you can do it 👇🏼 Ingredients: 1 heaping cup of almond flour (I used @bobsredmill ) 1/2 cup coconut sugar (I used @nutiva ) 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 cup nut butter (I used @georgiagrinders pecan butter) 1/4 cup melted coconut oil 2 tablespoons softened ghee (I used @fourthandheart ) 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla Method: Preheat oven to 350. Combine wet ingredient in one bowl and dry ingredients in the other. Combine wet and dry ingredients until mixed well. Pour into an 8x8 baking dish, greased with coconut oil. Sprinkle dark chocolate chips on top (and/or pecans!) and bake for 25 minutes. Remove. Cool. Slice. YUM 🌈 Recipe: Recipe: Red Onion: 1 sliced Bay leaf: 2 Balsamic vinegar:1/2 Tbsp Xylitol: 2 Tbsp Tomatoes: 1 Pepper: 1 large Tinned tomato: 1 tin Smoked paprika: 1 Tbsp Red chilly powder: 1-2 tsp Mixed herbs: 1 Tbsp Fresh dil: 1/2 cup liquid aminos: 1 Tbsp Soya mince: 1 Cup Red wine 1/4th cup Water: 1 cup Vegan butter 1 Tbsp Smoked salt to taste Method: 1) Preheat oven to 175C, roast peppers and tomato till done 2) Heat oil in a pan and add onions, balsamic vinegar and xylitol. When onions are caramelised add the tinned tomatoes, red wine and herbs.
