✨ M O M E N T U M ✨ ⠀ ⠀ Several weeks back I was at the gym doing bench press, and it really struck me - I’m not strong on my benching! And though I’d had this thought many times before, something just clicked and I decided I really wanted to work on my chest and arm strength. So I decided to start small...10 pushups from my toes each night. ⠀ ⠀ You guys...I’ve been doing CrossFit for over 5 years and that first night I got 8 (8!) pushups from my toes before having to take a break so I could complete the last 2 🤷‍♀️ ⠀ ⠀ That was about 5 weeks ago. Five weeks of consistent pushups (I’m doing 20 per day now) and I’m now at 16-18 consecutive before taking a break. ⠀ ⠀ But this story isn’t about the pushups. It’s about how starting small with a simple habit I can stay consistent with snowballs into more progress (hello 3 consecutive strict pull-ups last week!) and more confidence (holy crap my body is stronger than I thought!) 💪🏻🙌🏻 ⠀ ⠀ THIS is how you build momentum. Pick something simple, something that is slightly challenging but still achievable, and commit to staying consistent. When it starts to get easy, push yourself to do just a little more. You will be amazed at how confident and capable you feel when you start to build that momentum ☺️⠀ ⠀ Happy Friday friends, make it a wonderful day!

After a couple experiments, here is the final product. Preheat oven to 350 F. 2. Whisk dry ingredients together. 3. In a separate bowl, mix wet ingredients together well (a stand mixer would work better than by hand 🙈🤣). 4. Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredient bowl and keep mixing until a large ball of dough forms. 5. Refrigerate for 1 hour. 6. Roll out dough until 1/4 inch thick and use cookie cutters. 7. Bake for 10 minutes on cookie sheet (I use parchment paper too). Optional Icing: 8. Mix powdered sugar and nut milk together to form icing. 9. Drip outline of where you'd like snow to stop and fill in the rest. 10. Looookkk at that shinny salmon🤩 the reason it’s shinny is because of some drizzled honey! Sometimes I like to switch up salmon and this time it’s salty and sweet! I just did my normal salmon (tutorial in saved insta stories) and added a drizzle of some honey on top! Probably at most a tsp of honey and it was the best salty and sweet combo ever! What does mental health mean to you?⠀ ✨⠀ I’ve been having one of those days where I’m not exactly sure what the solution to my problem is. Heck, I’m not even sure what’s the actual problem. And before you know it, the best answer is to leave the problem alone and come back to it because making decisions when you feel pressured to solve things isn’t always the right choice.⠀ ✨⠀ Over the last year, I’ve realized that social media is becoming both a blessing & a curse in my life. But it’s up to me to create the boundaries for a healthy relationship with it. And it’s also up to me to recognize when I need to step back from things for my mental health. Today was one of those days.⠀ ✨⠀ So tonight’s question: what are you doing today for your mental health? Is it asking for help? Is it taking a step back? Is it saying no when you’d normally say yes? ⠀ ✨⠀ One person’s mental health battle doesn’t look like someone else’s. And wherever you are in your journey, always remember. You matter. You are important. And God saw the whole world and still thought it needed one of you. You are loved.

Striped, yellow and dark red beetroot slices ready for the oven. My favorite nutritious vegetable packed with vitamins and minerals, and very low in fat. 🌟 ~ Method for roasted beetroot: Preheat the oven to 190c. Cut the beetroot in slices, drizzle with sesame, apple cider vinegar, juice from 1/2 lemon, touch of maple syrup, salt and pepper. Roast in the oven for 30-40 min until the beetroot are tender. Eat in salads, with main recipes, or with spreads.

💚@Regran_ed from @the_clumsy_vegan - Mixed dal fry with green pea pilav 🌶 Do you buy Indian spice mix? Which is your favourite one? 🌶 I would like to share a few of my favourites with you. Garam masala and roasted curry powder are obviously staples! I also like using kitchen king masala, tandoori masala, chana masala, tikka masala and chat masala. These make the perfect marinade for roasting vegetables and also add flavour to dal, stews and even burgers. 🌶 Which one are you tempted to try first? 🌶 Ingredients: Beluga lentils: 1 tin draines Yellow lentils: 1/4th C Red lentils: 1/4th C Onions: 1 sliced in quarters Tomatoes: 2 small Fresh coriander: 1C Ginger: 1 T grated Dried red chilles: 2 Cumin seeds: 2 t Asafoetida: 1 t Kitchen king masala: 3-4 t Salt: 2 t Olive oil: 1 T Water: 3 C divided For tempuring: Coconut oil: 1 T Red chilly powder: 2 t mustard seeds: 1 t Method: 1) Cook yellow lentils in a pressure cooker till done 2) Bring 2C water to boil in a pot. When water comes to boil add onions and tomatoes and cook till soft (5-6 minutes). 3) Drain and add to a blender with fresh coriander and kitchen king masala. Blend to form a paste 4) Heat olive oil in a pan and add ginger, cumin and dried chilly. Stir for 1 minute and add the paste into the oil. Cook stirring for 5-6 minutes till the paste thickens. 5) Add red lentils and 1 C water. Bring to boil and then let simmer with lid on for a few minutes till the lentils begin to soften but are not completely cooked. 6) Add beluga lentils and yellow lentils and cook on a low flame till dal is cooked done. 7) In a separate pa heat Coconut oil. When oil is hot add mustard seeds and red chilly powder. As I was leaving for work - I got light headed, hot but also had the chills and my stomach was not feeling too hot 🤢 I got to work and shortly left an hour later. LET’S GET THIS BREAD 🥖 (sourdough bread that is) toastin’ to this Thursday full of studying 📚 If I am to be completely honest, I must admit I am the ABSOLUTE WORST when it comes to studying 😫 I dread studying because it doesn’t feel very productive; I’d very much rather write a paper and have it done and over with than sit there for countless hours reading over content just to memorize it. Idunno maybe it’s just me 🤷🏻‍♀️ So yes, I end up procrastinating A LOT 😣 it’s already noon but instead of studying, I ate 3 meals, did yoga and strength training, cleaned my entire desk, anddddd reorganized the items in my pantry! Green eggs and ham sound crazy? Not in this kitchen! 🤣Banana spinach pancakes 🥞 was on the menu for breakfast this morning and they tasted 👌🏽. All I did was dump 1/2 cup almond flour, 1 egg, 1/2 banana, 1/3 cup nut milk, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp vanilla, and 1 tbsp olive oil into a blender and combined. Then I heated a skillet on medium low heat (gotta cook ‘em low and slow work with them gently) and used about 1/3 cup batter for each pancake Top wit some berries and a drizzle of maple syrup - you’ll be golden! Definitely not a traditional pancake but sure is pretty Was a perfect way to use up some wilted spinach and get some veggies in for breakfast!

ok so I meant to post this a couple days ago, but life happens and better late than never, ya know?? these are super super delicious— coconut molasses cookies are a holiday win and vegan + gluten free. the ginger + cinnamon combo literally tastes like holiday time in your mouth, they have a crunchy outside and gooey inside, and the vegan vanilla frosting is just the icing on top (see what I did there?) of something already the most delicious. best if served next to a christmas tree with the fam😉 •••recipe in comments below••••

I woke up this morning to Luna licking my neck 🐈 now if you’ve ever been licked by a cat before you know it’s not nearly as pleasant as being licked by a dog 😂 but I love her so much for it! thanks to Luna I woke up early enough to make myself this breakfast plate before heading out the door for work: two @vitalfarms fried eggs in @chosenfoods avocado oil, @breadsrsly toasted OG sourdough & half an avocado sprinkled with @manitobaharvest hemp hearts. sooo ready for the weekend 🙋🏻‍♀️!
When was the last time you tried something new? How about this Pulled Jackfruit Sandwich on grilled sourdough?! . Be brave and try this recipe from @the_clumsy_vegan . Recipe: Ingredients: Jackfruit:1 tinned drained and washed Onion: 1 thinly sliced Tomato paste: 1 Tbsp Bayleaf: 1 Cumin powder: 2 tsp Smoked paprika: 3 tsp Mixed dried herbs: 1 Tbsp Olive oil: 1/2 Tbsp Balsamic vinegar: 1 Tbsp Xylitol: 1 Tbsp Salt to taste Vegan butter: 1 Tbsp Method: 1) Heat olive oil in a pan and when hot add bayleaf, onions, xylitol and balsamic vinegar. Cook till onions are caramelised 2) Add tomato paste, cumin powder and smoked paprika. Cool for a further 5-6 minutes 3) Add jackfruit and herbs and mix well to combine. 4) stir in vegan butter and salt. almond butter & jelly gingerbread oats to kick off my half birthday! 😂🙌🏼🎉 tweaked my gingerbread overnight oats recipe a little and then topped it off with homemade blueberry jam, coconut yogurt and almond butter 🤤 Happy Thursday friends 💜 . 👉 mix 1/4 c sprouted quick oats with 1 tbs chia seed + 1 tbs ground flax + 1/2 scoop @vitalproteins gingerbread collagen creamer + 1/2 scoop @primalkitchenfoods vanilla collagen + a good shake of @freshjax maple cinnamon and ground ginger + 1/4 c coconut milk (from a can) + 1/2 c almond milk. Mix well and toss in fridge. Top with coconut yogurt, jam and almond butter!

sometimes you make a target run for everything you didn’t know you needed and other times you...well okay that’s pretty much always the case. One year ago {almost to the date} my husband and I paid off our first credit card bill! AND Today, we paid off one of our student loans in FULL! 🙌🏼 Before I started coaching - we didn’t have any extra money to pay towards credit card debt or student loans... and quite honestly we were living almost paycheck to paycheck. When I first signed up as a coach - I used a Visa giftcard to pay for my challenge pack because that’s all I had. But this morning I hit “make payment” for the final time! Can you say FULL CIRCLE MOMENT?! 😭 Thinking about what can happen in ONE year is crazy! This is not WHY I started my coaching career - I started because I wanted to get healthy and NEEDED to prioritize myself. It was time that I invested in ME! The investment paid off because I felt amazing and I loved myself for me. 💕 I wanted to help others feel the same. My little side gig has turned into my full time job starting in February! CHAI HOT CHOCOLATE WITH ‘WHIPPED CREAM’ . . 2 cups almond mylk 1-2 tbsp cacao powder (according to taste) 1 tbsp chai spices 1 cinnamon stick 1/2 cup aquafaba (water from a tin of chickpeas) 1/2 tsp cream of tartar 1 tsp vanilla extract 4 tsp rice malt syrup ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Add almond mylk, cacao, 2 tsp of rice malt syrup and chai spices to a small pan and heat gently. While the hot chocolate is simmering, add aquafaba to a clean mixing bowl and whisk for at least 5-6 minutes until it starts to form stiff peaks. Add in cream of tartar, vanilla extract and 2 tsp rice malt syrup slowly while whisking. Keep beating for a further five minutes, the mix should be thick and stiff. Scoop into a piping bag and swirl on top of your hot chocolate. Mornings like this are like therapy Listening to music, lighting a candle/incense, and painting is by far the most therapeutic way to spend my time lately. I get in such a flow and just do whatever, nothing else matters and everything I do is in the moment. If you struggle in the morning or think too much in general TRYING PAINTING. Especially watercolors because it’s really hard to make it look bad?
