MAKEUP AND SUNSCREEN CLEANSING SQUAD💦
Hydrating Cleanser Oil. A firm favourite although the scent is off-putting! It smells of grapeseed oil which is the main oil, but smells nothing like 🍇 ! The scent disappears after wash and I love the texture-light, easy to wash off with no greasy residue. You have to work a little bit more with tough Japanese mascaras though, and apparently doesn’t take off full-face makeup efficiently. I don’t wear a lot of makeup so I have really no issues with it taking my makeup off. Affordable, easily available at local pharmacies 🇲🇾.
Balancing Cleansing Oil. (I alternate this with Simple) Beautiful cleansing oil, with jojoba oil at the helm. Incredibly light and have more of a “slip” than Simple’s. Has a citrusy scent, does sting eyes and does contain essential oils. Easy to remove, doesn’t dry out skin but like Simple, takes a bit more work to wash off waterproof/tough Japanese mascaras. I just can’t stomach the price though. It can contain pink diamonds but I will never pay *this* much for skincare. Nope, won’t do it! 🙅🏻♀️There are other more affordable options just as good, even better, just needs a bit more research. So once this is done, it’s done and back to Simple🍃.
Real Fresh Green Tea Stick cleanser. Double cleansing - I am a bit taken aback that a lot of folks slap all sorts of layers onto the skin (plus dirt and grime), but are clueless (or too lazy) about double cleansing🤦🏻♀️. This stick cleanser is easy to use (love it for traveling!) and takes off the left over from the oil cleanser effectively. Does leave my face a tad bit tight so I always follow up with the 7-skin method (layering hydrating toner) or moisturizer.
I use these everyday although I don’t use makeup everyday, but I put on sunscreen everyday, even if I am staying indoors (like today), even on a cloudy day, even on a rainy day. It’s part of my skincare. Sunscreen can only be effectively removed with oil cleansers.
Double cleanse! Your skin will thank you!
Have a great day and happy Iftar!
